Fall 2020. "Intertwined Landscape." This project examines landscape and nature. Inspired by climbing ivy, concepts of weaving and geothermal energy create an experience that can allow for coexistence between human and animal.
"Woven piping, inspired by climbing ivy, utilizes geothermal wells to provide the space and its surroundings with heat and energy. The building captured within the piping structure creates space of contemplation and exploration for the human. Courtyard and exterior spaces provide for the coexistence between humans and animals. The top of the building supplies crevasses and dense areas for animals and insects to inhabit and take advantage of the geothermal warmth. This intervention of landscape captures the art of sustainable design by providing for not only human occupancy but also nature and animal inhabitation."
