WELCOME

Welcome to the Indodrill Stadium for today’s Scottish Lowland Football League match against East Kilbride FC.

After a month between games, interim boss Jamie Hamilton will be looking to kickstart BSC’s campaign as they face a busy March schedule.

Martin Lauchlan’s side, top of the league for the whole season including a historic winning run, are still under pressure from East Stirlingshire in second and will be keen to keep picking up points as they look to wrap up the Lowland League title early.

For BSC, it’s once again a chance to push up the table as it remains incredibly close, with only four points between seventh and twelfth

with most sides still with seven games to play.

East Kilbride were the victors when the sides met earlier this season, running out 3-1 winners after a late winner killed off a BSC comeback led by Aidan Ferris.

Hamilton’s first game in charge couldn’t have thrown up a tougher league opponent, but BSC will be looking to pick up their first win in three and take a big scalp from their local rivals.

MANAGER’S THOUGHTS welcome to the indodrill stadium I think that it would be fair to acknowledge that today’s game against champions elect, East Kilbride represents a significant challenge not only for the players, coaching staff and myself, but for all concerned with BSC Glasgow.

Today’s visitors currently inhabit the position that we – as an ambitious and forward thinking club – know we must strive to achieve.

We must be prepared to meet the challenge that we will undoubtedly face this afternoon. We cannot afford to take a backward step as even the slightest hesitation is likely to be punished.

I hope that you’re looking forward as much as I am to watching how our players fight for the initiative in what promises to be an exciting game full of passion and intensity.

As a team we must take individual and collective responsibility for our actions and pay attention to our opponents. Failure to pay the requisite attention will lead to carelessness, naivety and ultimately a continuation

of the mistakes that have cost us points throughout the season.

However, having seen first hand the mentality continue to grow stronger within the group during what has admittedly been a tough couple of weeks with Mark Adams leaving the club, I’m confident that the players will give everything for BSC Glasgow today as they endeavour to produce a performance that we can all be proud of.

Finally I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark for the opportunities that Jamie Hamilt on he has given this group of players and, of course, myself.

We wish him all the very best for the future.

CHAIRMAN’S COMMENTS LET’S BE BRAVE

Welcome to our visitors east Kilbride today.

Our guests today are riding high in the League and we wish them well outwith today’s game in their efforts to reach the SPFL and follow in the footsteps of Edinburgh City.

Our League is increasing establishing itself as a credible force in Scottish Football.

What I find most exciting are the opportunities that that the current reorganisation of Scottish Football are going to offer BSC. Plans under the much heralded Project Brave are coming to light in the coming months.

but under the guidance of Dave McKenna from East Kilbride and fellow clubs in the League we are hopeful about playing our part in player development in the coming decade.

The future for those of us who want to develop our own players is bright. Let’s all be Brave!

Glasgow were inches away from completing an outstanding late comeback, but opponents Cumbernauld Colts held on after taking a commanding lead at Broadwood.

Mark Adams’ side found themselves 4-0 down after some efficient attacking play by Colts, but three goals in 10 minutes from Gerard Traynor, Riccardo Corrieri and Gary Redpath towards the end left the home side defending for their lives as BSC looked for an elusive fourth goal.

side the lead after only five minutes after they won the ball high up the pitch. The striker latched onto a through ball and slotted under Stephen Barr.

BSC had a number of chances at 1-0 down, with Redpath, Blair Lyons and Thomas Orr coming close to beating Chris Fahey.

Lyons and Orr combined well before the former was substituted with an injury, but couldn’t find an equaliser as they failed to properly test the Colts keeper.

Brown netted his second with an acrobatic volley into the top right corner after a cross towards the near post from Lewis Wilson.

Then, right on the stroke of half time, a low cross from the other side was reached first by Black who tapped in past Barr.

The second half didn’t start well for BSC either. Black got free from after a short corner and smacked it in to make it 4.

Black had a chance to extend the lead with just over 20 minutes remaining, cannoning a shot off the bar from similar position to his goal, before Brown finished off the rebound but was called offside.

Traynor gave BSC what seemed like a consolation goal inside the final 20 minutes after BSC worked the ball to the fullback from a corner.

But when Corrieri caught Fahey out of position and curled into the bottom right from just outside the area, BSC tails were up as they got themselves firmly back into the game.

When Orr then found Redpath with a low cross from the right for the midfielder to slam home from close range, BSC were left with nine minutes to find an equaliser. Shaun Bowers drove forward down the right and beat Wilson to a long diagonal ball, but his shot was saved by the onrushing Fahey.

BSC then won a corner with five minutes remaining, but antics from keeper Fahey saw the game delayed by minutes and the keeper booked along with Thomas Orr. When the corner was finally swung in, it was won by a BSC head and looked to have crossed the line, but a free kick was given for a foul in the area.

Traynor had a final chance inside the last minute, with a narrow-angled volley saved by Fahey.

An outstanding second half effort from BSC just couldn’t be finished off with a famous equaliser, and Colts held on to their points.

FOOTBALL V HOMOPHOBIA BSC GLASGOW PROUD TO SUPPORT CAMPAIGN Last month was the international month of ‘Football v Homophobia’ (FvH) and BSC Glasgow FC are proud to lend our support to the campaign in this, our first home game since January.

FvH is a campaign uniting fans, players, communities, grassroots teams, professional clubs and the Football Authorities in opposing homophobia and prejudice against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in all aspects of football.

Year round, FvH enables people to take action against prejudice and discrimination based on sexuality or gender identity in the sport, and to celebrate and welcome diversity

in the game.

Club Secretary George Fraser said: “Football should be an enjoyable experience for both players and fans, affording the opportunity to come together and share in the sport that we all love. We want everyone to feel part of the BSC Family and are delighted to support Football v Homophobia’s work.”

Homophobia and LGBT discrimination has long been an issue in football and we are proud to support FvH and the work that they do in our game to stamp it out.

THE KILBY HISTORY

The original club was formed in 1871, making it one of the first clubs in Scotland. Their first recorded match was a 1–0 defeat by a Queen’s Park second eleven in April 1872. They drew 0–0 with the same team later that year.

During the 1870s the club folded and resurrected several times, which was a regular occurrence at that time for football clubs.

The original club colours were navy and gold according to evidence from the SFA Museum of Football.

The original club did not have a badge, which was customary at the time too.

The team played at Kirktonholme in 1876, winning three, losing nine and drawing three games. The team played at Show Park in 1877 and had a better season, winning six, losing six and drawing six.

The club participated in some of the earliest editions of the Scottish Cup in seasons 1878–79 and 1879–80, going out in the first round in both seasons before folding.

The modern club was formed in May 2010 after the merger of Jackton Boys Club and Stewartfield F.C. Later local clubs EK Diamonds and EK Wanderers were incorporated into the structure.

Formed in 2010 with the intention of bringing senior football to one of Scotland’s largest towns, East Kilbride FC initially competed in amateur football before becoming one of the founder members of the Lowland League in 2013.

GROUND REGULATIONS THE INDODRILL STADIUM

1. Every person entering the stadium must have a valid ticket and holders of such tickets must not engage in any form of unacceptable conduct.

2. Unauthorised persons are not permitted pitchside, on the field of play or any other area specified by the club.

3. By entering the stadium fans acknowledge that photographs, videos and other stills may be taken and used by the club. Entry to the stadium is confirmation that attendees consent to use of their image.

4. Smoking is not permitted ANYWHERE in the stadium.

5. The use of threatening behaviour, foul or abusive language is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. Racial, sectarian, political, misogynist, homophobic or generally discriminatory behaviour, abuse or chanting is also forbidden and considered unacceptable conduct by BSC Glasgow FC. 6. BSC Glasgow FC are breast feeding friendly club. Any violations of this policy by spectators or otherwise should be reported to club staff.

7. It is unacceptable to throw any objects onto the pitch or trackside.

8. It is deemed unacceptable to enter or attempt to enter the stadium: • Whilst in possession of a prohibited container which is can contain liquid and would inflict injury if thrown • In possession of alcohol • In possession of flares/fireworks/smoke bombs of any kind
