Everyone is welcome at the BSBI British & Irish Botanical Conference. You don’t have to be a BSBI member or an expert botanist, but you will need to book in advance please. We are looking forward to returning to a face-to-face event but we will be monitoring Government guidance during the period leading up to the Conference, and in the event of a resurgence of Covid, we will limit the number of attendees to 100 so that we can practice social distancing.

How to book - there are two options: 1. Please use our on-line booking form if you wish to attend and/or exhibit and/or request a space on a Herbarium tour. If you wish to attend and/or exhibit and/or join one of the Herbarium tours but are unable to use the on-line booking system, please complete the booking form (below) and post it to: L. Marsh, 234 London Road, Leicester LE2 1RH. Exhibits: We welcome exhibits on any aspect of the British or Irish flora, especially from first-time exhibitors. Please book as outlined above and state your requirements (number of display boards, table space, wi-fi, electrical socket). You can also contact us at meetings@bsbi.org if you need further assistance. Posters will be displayed at the event and, where possible, we would also like an electronic copy of your exhibit.

Book-sellers: Unfortunately, our book-sellers Summerfield Books will not be present in person this year but you can order books from their website: www.summerfieldbooks.com Herbarium tours: There will be the chance to go behind-the-scenes for a tour of the world-famous NHM herbarium. If you would like to join one of the two tours, please book as outlined above or complete the booking form below. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, firstserved, basis.

Identification Help Table/John Poland’s Vegetative ID Table: please bring along any specimens you find difficult to identify and challenge some of the best botanists in the country!

Getting to the meeting: the nearest Underground station is South Kensington, on the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines. The nearest museum entrance for the Flett Theatre is on Exhibition Road.

Please note that it is NHM policy to search visitors' bags at the museum's entrance.

Filming and photographs: We hope to record the talks and upload them later to the BSBI YouTube channel – we would also like to film and/or photograph attendees listening to the talks and viewing the exhibits, so we can use the footage and images for publicity purposes. Please let us know when you book if you do not wish to be included in any such footage or photographs. We also encourage

you to take photographs at the event and will set up a folder where these can be shared.

Refreshments: Attendees can use the museum’s cafés and restaurants for refreshments or you are welcome to bring your own lunch.

After the meeting we hope to be able to book a private room in a nearby pub (the Hoop & Toy) so we can socialise over a drink and a bite to eat before we head home. If you’re planning to join us, you may want to allow for this when making your travel arrangements.
