En la actualidad, la ciudad de Tandil tiene una frase que la representa: “Lugar soñado”. Viajé hasta allí para descubrir si esa frase cumplia con lo prometido ó si era solo un simple cliché de destinos turísticos. En mi opinión, Tandil es un lugar soñado que per permite disfrutar de un equilibrio justo entre naturaleza, sierras y ciudad.
A “Dream Place” has recently become a popular phrase to describe the city of Tandil. I traveled there to find out if what such slogan bore was absolutely true, or if it was just another old cliché about tourist destinations. In my opinion, Tandil is the right place to enjoy the harmonious balance among nature, hills and city life. It is a haven of peace and tranquility and there are

Si lo que se busca es realizar actividad física al aires libre, entonces se pueden escalar las sierras, practicar remo en el lago ó simplemente incursionarse en largas caminatas. En cuanto a la ciudad, quizás es un poco pequeña pero cuenta con lo básico necesario.

In case you are looking for doing exercise outdoors, then you may want to climb mountains, row in the lake or simply go for long walks. As for the city itself, it may be a bit small but I can assure you it has well-stocked shops within easy reach.

turismo • Cerro El Centinela: El cerro recibe esta denominación por una piedra granítica de siete metros de altura, de aspecto singular, ubicada en posición vertical sobre una base pequeña. • Parque Independencia: Se encuentra ubicado a mil metros del lugar donde se emplazó al Fuerte Independencia, tiene una altura de 280 metros sobre el nivel del mar.
Lugares para disfrutar: La ciudad de Tandil ofrece diferentes alternativas al momento de hospedarse para disfrutar de una estadía que invita al relax y a la conexión con la naturaleza. Dos de ellos son:

En la Diagonal Arturo Illia del Parque Independencia se realizan desde hace unos años una feria de artesanos, en donde se puede comprar artesanías de todo el país y una denominada Feria de Sabores en donde los fabricantes locales de productos alimenticios exponen y comercializan sus productos. • Fortress Lake: It is a reinforced concrete reservoir forming a 19hectare lake which contains flowing water from the Fortress stream. Along Arturo Illia Street there has been for several years now a craft fair where visitors can buy handcrafts from all over the country; also, a Taste Fair with traditional dishes are sold by locals.
Places to Enjoy The city of Tandil offers different alternatives to enjoy a stay that encourages relaxation and connection with nature. Puerto Madero y veleros históricos Puerto Madero and Tall Ships
En el mes de Marzo, buques escuela de distintos países sudamericanos visitaron la Dársena Norte y el Dique 4 de Puerto Madero en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Por supuesto, no quisimos perdernos este evento y estuvimos allí. Los buques escuela son las embarcaciones que participan de la regata Velas Sudamérica 2010, conmemorando el Bicentenario de la Revolución de Mayo de Argentina y la independencia de otros cuatro países sudamericanos: Venezuela, Colombia, México y Chile. Los veleros que participaron de las regatas del Bicentenario amarrados en dársena norte son “Libertad” de Argentina, “Cisne Branco” de Brasil, “Sebastián Elcano” de España, “Esmeralda”

de Chile y “Sagreb” de Portugal. El evento duró tres días: desde el viernes 5 hasta el lunes 8 de Marzo. Sin embargo, las fragatas cautivaron al público siendo más de 10.000 personas las que visitaron las embarcaciones junto a sus tripulaciones, a cargo de las visitas guiadas. Los veleros partieron el día martes para continuar con su travesía. Desde Buenos Aires navegaron hasta cruzar el océano Pacifico y comenzar así, a subir hacia el norte del continente. Vale destacar que el primer tramo de la regata comenzó en los primeros días de Febrero y culminará en el mes de Junio, en México. In March school ships from different South American countries visited the North Dock and Dam 4 in Puerto Madero in the city of Buenos Aires. Such vessels took part of a maritime event called “Tall Ships Meeting and Race 2010” held within the framework of the Bicentennial Celebration to commemorate the creation of the first National Argentinian Governing Board and the independence of other 4 southern countries: Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico and Chile. The ships moored on the North Dock were: “Libertad” from Argentina, “Cisne Blanco” from Brazil, “Sebastian Elcano” from Spain, “Esmeralda” from Chile and “Sagreb” from Portugal. More than 10.000 people visited the captivating frigates as well as their crews, who were in charge of the guided tours.

Si te perdiste el encuentro más importante de la moda nacional en Argentina, aquí te acercamos un resumen del avance de la moda otoño 2010 de la mano de Baf Week - Buenos Aires. Baf Week es un espacio en donde conviven las mar marcas y los diseñadores independientes para presentar el lanzamiento de sus colecciones otoño/invierno 2010. El evento convocó a destacados referentes del mundo de la moda, en un multi-espacio que albergó 1 pasarela para los desfiles que se llevaron a cabo a lo largo de la semana y alrededor de 30 showrooms para que los diseñadores exhibieran sus propuestas en un espacio exclusivo. Además, hubo instalaciones y livings de descanso con opciones gastronómicas. Si bien, el espacio en donde se presentó el evento era grande, los stands resultaron un poco peque-

ños ante tanta cantidad de personas que los visitaba al mismo tiempo. Largas hileras de mujeres esperando su turno para ser maquilladas y fotogra fotografiadas en cada una de las prestigiosas marcas. El pabellón utilizado para la Baf Week tenia una apariencia nocturna: muy poca luz en el pabellón en general contrastando con la claridad de cada showroom en particular. LA NACION Eventos, dentro del cual se instalaron showrooms con ropa, accesorios, carteras y zapatos, en los que fue posible elegir y comprar lo último en diseño. El puntapié inicial lo dio Martin Churba, acercando lo nuevo de Tramando. En los sucesivos días continuaron marcas renombradas y prestigiosas del diseño. Algunas de ellas fueron: Juana de Arco, una firma que sobresale por su colorido y por su realización artesanal; los zapatos y las carteras de la mano de Prüne; Wanama con disedise ños inspirados en motivos de paisajes y animales de Alaska; Rapsodia con su habitual eses tilo bohemio; Uma , rindiendo homenaje con su colección a Cocó Chanel; Puma con dise-ños urbanos y dinámicos con reminiscencias de la cultura africana, entre otros. Por último, otra particularidad del evento fue la exhibición del vestuario utilizado en la película “Alicia en el país de las maravillas” dirigida por Tim Burton.
If by any chance you missed the most important national fashion event in Argentina, here you have a summary of its Fall/Winter 2010 edition which took place in Buenos Aires. BAF WEEK organised a gathering of talented designers and top brands in an exclusive multi-space to especially unveil their Fall/Winter 2010 collections on the runaway in more than 30 showrooms. Besides, people could make use of extra facilities such as rest areas or even taste culinary delights. Though the event was held in a big convention center, there was not enough room for such an amount of people visiting the stalls at the same time. Models stood in long rows waiting to be made up and photographed by prestigious trademarks. The pavillion was set to create a night atmosphere by the use of pale lights contrasting with the bright ones fitted in each showroom. This event -organized by APSA, La Rural and La Nación Eventos- was held on February 24, 25 and 26 in the Yellow Pavillion at La Rural, Buenos Aires, where the stands were filled with clothes, accessories, bags and shoes so that attendees could choose and buy the latest trends.

fashion The first designer to stage a full catwalk production of his new collection was Martín Churba of Tramando. Other leading makes included Juana de Arco, which is notable for its colorful and handicraft fashion line; Prüne’s shoes and bags; Wanama reflecting the imagery of the Alaskan landscape and native animals; Rapsodia with its usual bohemian style; Uma’s collection inspired by Cocó Chanel and Puma’s urban and dynamic designs with reminiscences of African culture. Finally, inspired by and coinciding with the release of Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” all the movie costumes were shown.
