Our Co-Curricular Enrichment (CCE) programme is designed to help you discover passions, develop essential life skills, and build lasting friendships. Whether you’re leading a club, trying something new, or deepening a current interest, every activity is a chance to grow. Whether you're passionate about sports, creativity, innovation, leadership, or service, there’s something for everyone.

Are you ready to explore the universe? Join Astronomy Club and discover the wonders of space! Learn about stars, planets, and galaxies while completing fun projects to earn badges. We'll explore big questions too - like what is a black hole, is there life beyond Earth, and how big is the universe?

Ever wondered who’d win in a battle between Spiderman and a T-Rex? Discover action-packed games like Unmatched and Coup in our table-top gaming CCE. Build strategy, bluff your way to victory, and develop critical thinking. All skill levels welcome - join us for fun, challenge, and community. See you there!

Along the way, they’ll receive mentoring, practise teamwork, and compete for prizes. This hands-on experience builds essential business, communication, and leadership skills in a fun and engaging environment.

Join us for an engaging and strategic journey into the world of chess! Open to all students from Year 7 to Year 13, the Chess Club provides a welcoming space where the players can refine their skills. Through friendly matches and discussions, students will develop logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and patience, while enjoying a fun and social environment.

CYBERSECURITY

Years 7, 8, 9, 10 & Years 12, 13

The Cyber Security Club is perfect for students who enjoy technology, puzzles, and problem-solving. You'll learn how to think like an ethical hacker, protect digital information, and take part in fun challenges such as beginner-friendly hacking games and Capture the Flag competitions. Students should be comfortable using computers and have a basic understanding of how the internet works. Some experience with coding (e.g. Python or Scratch) is helpful but not essential — curiosity and a willingness to learn are more important. The club builds real technical skills while encouraging teamwork, resilience, and critical thinking.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH

GOLD AWARD

One of the most meaningful, rewarding and life-changing experiences a Sixth Former can have is undertaking their Gold DofE International Award. This programme ensures that those who complete it come out as changed people. Participants spend 12 months (18 months for those who don’t have the Silver Award) to engage in three activities - Physical Recreation,Skill,andVoluntaryService- with an emphasis on pursuing activities that align with their future university and career paths.

The Gold Award includes a Residential Project which must be undertaken individually by each participant. The PracticeAdventurousJourneywill take place in the UAE and the, compulsory, AssessedAdventurousJourneytakes place overseas. Past locations have included Nepal, Italy and Mauritius.

Ever dreamed of being a pilot? This club lets students experience the thrill of flying a range of aircraft using our high-tech flight simulators. Learn the basics of aviation, test your skills, and explore the skies—no passport required!

Join BSAK Esports Dynasty team and join our Minecraft Club being run by Daigom Esports. Open to KS3 students, this club is perfect for those who enjoy strategy, teamwork, and representing our school on the global esports stage. Weekly training and strategy sessions followed by a one day live international school's tournament. Train, build, and battle your way to victory!

Join the F1 in Schools CCE to design, build, and race miniature F1 cars! Open to students in Years 7–10, this exciting program blends engineering, creativity, and teamwork. Compete in the National Finals in June 2026 and experience the thrill of real-world STEM innovation and racing!

French Club offers a fun, engaging way to practise speaking French and explore Francophone cultures. GGO KARTING

Open to All

GREENPOWER

Years 7, 8, 9 & 10

Join the Greenpower Racing CCE and design, build, and race electric cars as part of the Greenpower UAE competition! Open to Years 7–10, this hands-on engineering club develops teamwork, problem-solving, and sustainability skills. Compete against other schools and experience the excitement of real racing with a purpose!

GOLF

The BSAK Golf Co-Curricular Activity offers students from Year 4 to Year 13 the chance to develop their golf skills in a fun, supportive, and professional environment. Taking place every Wednesday at City Golf Club Abu Dhabi, students receive expert coaching from the club’s resident golf professionals. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced player, this CCE caters to all skill levels. With a maximum of 20 students per term, each participant benefits from focused instruction and plenty of practice.

Students that take part in this CCE will have the opportunity to represent the school in the BSME golf competition in addition to the ‘Golf Sixes’ competitions throughout the year.

MATHS CHALLENGE CLUB

The Mathematics Challenge club, which is based around the UKMT Maths Challenge. Develop problem-solving skills, tackle past and advanced UKMT questions, and explore mathematical concepts beyond the classroom. Ideal for students who enjoy logical thinking, puzzles, and friendly competition. Prepare for future Olympiads in a supportive and stimulating environment.

MEDIA DIGITAL CLUB

Open to All

Combining creativity and digital technology to produce Media. Students will develop a wide range of digital skills using hardware and software to create impressive media, from photography, graphic design and film. In term one students will have the chance to take part in the BIMA Digital Challenge, a UK national competition where students respond to a real creative brief set by industry professionals.

MEDSOC: SENIORS

Junior MedSoc is an engaging club for students interested in exploring a future in medicine. It helps build curiosity, confidence, and early understanding of the medical application process. Sessions include fun and unusual MMI-style activities, UCAT challenges, and talks from older students sharing their experiences and advice. The aim is to begin building the foundations of a strong application without pressure, but with real purpose.

Medical Society (MedSoc) is an enriching extracurricular activity for students aspiring to study medicine. It provides opportunities to explore medical ethics, current healthcare topics, and case studies, while developing key skills such as teamwork, leadership, and communication. Students engage in group discussions, and participate in debates on real-world medical issues. MedSoc also offers tailored support for the UCAT and UCAS application process, including workshops, interview preparation, and peer mentoring. Through this well-rounded programme, students gain valuable insight into the medical profession and strengthen their applications to university medicine courses.

Join Model United Nations (MUN) to debate global issues, develop public speaking and diplomacy skills, and represent countries in simulated UN conferences. Collaborate, negotiate, and think critically in a dynamic, student-led environment. MUN is perfect for aspiring leaders, thinkers, and changemakers. Step into the world stage - your voice matters!

AURAL TRAINING *

Aural Training is designed to help students enhance their listening skills, an essential part of any music exam. You'll work on recognising intervals, rhythms, chords, and improving your musical memory in a focused but supportive environment. This invite only club is especially helpful for students preparing for instrumental or theory exams.

BRASS *

Al Khubairat Brass* and Brass Advanced* are invite only ensembles where you’ll have the chance to challenge yourself to raise your technique and ensemble skills. Working on challenging pieces will help you improve your ability to blend, balance, and respond to the conductor’s direction. This experience will build your musicianship and prepare you for more advanced performances and auditions.

CELLISSIMO *

Cellisimo* is an invite only group and a dedicated ensemble for cellists who want to take their playing further in a focused group setting. The ensemble explores rich and varied repertoire written or arranged specifically for multiple cellos, allowing students to develop their tone, technique, and ensemble skills. Rehearsals focus on blend, phrasing, and musical expression, offering a unique opportunity to create a full, layered sound using just the cello.

CHOIR

Join Choir and be part of a vibrant, supportive group that loves to sing. You'll build vocal skills, perform in school events, and experience the joy of making music with others. No auditions or prior experience, just an enthusiasm and willingness to take part. It’s a great way to grow in confidence, develop teamwork, and represent your school through music.

DRUMMING *

This high energy club introduces students to the core skills of rhythm, coordination, and percussion technique. Using a variety of drums and handheld instruments, students will learn to play together as an ensemble and develop tight, exciting group performances. To join, students should already be taking drum lessons either in or outside of school, as this is an invite only ensemble.

FLUTES *

Elite Flutes* and Secondary Flutes*, which are invite only clubs, allow for collaboration with other dedicated flautists to refine your ensemble playing and musical expression. These groups focus on developing advanced technique, tone quality, and interpretation through a diverse and challenging repertoire. Ideal for students already progressing in their flute studies, the ensemble offers valuable performance experience and the chance to represent the school at concerts and events.

FRIDAY JAM *

Friday Jam* is an invite only weekly opportunity for musicians to come together in a relaxed and creative environment designed to inspire collaboration and experimentation. This weekly gathering is a fantastic way to connect with other players, build confidence, and end the week on a high note through the joy of making music together.

GUITARS *

These invite clubs, Advanced Guitars Classical* and Electric Guitars Improvisation* is for students who want to develop their playing in a group setting, focusing on coordination, timing, and musical expression. You will have the opportunity to build your improvisation skills through creating riffs, solos, and chord progressions. You'll also learn how to develop musical ideas, experiment with different styles, and gain confidence playing in the moment These groups are a great way to build confidence, expand your technique, and enjoy making music with others.

JAZZ BAND *

Jazz Band is an invite only club which is designed to help you work on developing your skills, mastering swing rhythms, and playing as part of a tight knit ensemble. The group focuses on both classic jazz standards and contemporary pieces, giving you a chance to explore a wide range of material. Through regular rehearsals and performances, you’ll build confidence, improve your listening skills, and learn how to express yourself creatively within the band.

Develop your Music Theory skills in a supportive space, with tailored sessions to meet each student’s stage of learning. Beginner Club is open to all levels, with no prior experience. Music Theory * is an invite only club to those progressing through Grades 2–5. Fast Track Music Theory* is an invite only club to those progressing into Grade 6 and above. A great resource for those learning an instrument, in or outside of school.

REVISION - GCSE / A LEVEL *

SINGERS *

Elite Singers* and Opera Duet and Ensemble* are invite only groups for advanced vocalists. Students rehearse challenging repertoire, including opera scenes and ensemble work, with a focus on technique, expression, and teamwork. These clubs are for committed singers ready to perform at a high level across a range of styles.

STRINGS - SECONDARY *

Secondary Strings* and String Quartet* are invite only clubs which offer ongoing support in developing your skills in a collaborative setting. As you continue, you’ll take on more challenging repertoire that pushes your technical and musical abilities. Being part of this group also provides a supportive environment that encourages growth and confidence over time. It’s a great opportunity for committed musicians to refine their ensemble playing and represent the school at concerts and special events.

TINY DESK *

ORCHESTRA *

Orchestra* is an invite only ensemble which gives you the opportunity to be part of a large, collaborative group where every instrument plays a key role. You’ll work on a variety of music, from well known classical works to contemporary pieces, which will challenge and develop your playing. Rehearsals focus on ensemble skills like balance, listening, and following the conductor, all essential for confident performance. Being in the orchestra also helps build commitment and responsibility as you prepare for concerts during the year. It’s a rewarding way to grow as a musician.

with a musical background are welcome to contact the Music Department to explore available opportunities to join ensembles, lessons or other activities.

This club is designed to support students preparing for their GCSE and A Level Music exams. Each session focuses on key areas such as set works, listening skills, music theory, and exam technique. You'll have the chance to ask questions, review past papers, and strengthen your understanding in a focused, supportive environment. It's a great way to reinforce classroom learning, build confidence, and stay on track with your revision.

ROCK AND POP SCHOOL*

Rock and Pop School* is an invite only club for students who want to perform in a band setting and explore popular music styles including rock, pop, indie, and more. You’ll work on covers and original material, developing skills in group performance, stage presence, and musical arrangement. Whether you sing, play guitar, bass, drums, or keys, this is a chance to be part of a band, learn by doing, and have fun making music with others.

This invite club is for students who have recently started flute, clarinet, or saxophone and are ready to begin playing in a group setting. Sessions focus on foundational ensemble skills like tuning, rhythm, and blending.

WAKE UP WEDNESDAY *

An invited lively morning performance opportunity for young musicians to perform as a soloist or with a small ensemble with focus on building confidence for external exams.

WINDBAND - SECONDARY *

Wind Band* is an invite only club, which offers you an opportunity to explore a variety of musical styles, from classical to contemporary, which broadens your experience and keeps rehearsals engaging. Playing in the band sharpens your ability to listen closely and coordinate with others, improving your timing, dynamics, and overall ensemble sound. To join, students should already be taking instrumental lessons either in or outside of school.

QU’URAN TAJWEED CLUB

The Qur’an Tajweed Club offers students the opportunity to develop their recitation skills by learning essential Tajweed rules such as noon saakin, meem saakin, and madd. Through guided practice and support, students will enhance their pronunciation and fluency to recite the Qur’an with clarity and beauty.

CRICKET (BOYS)

Cricket at BSAK is a growing sport that focuses on developing technical ability, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship. With access to excellent coaching and training facilities, boys can compete in a variety of matches and tournaments throughout the ADISSA season whilst the U19s will represent the school at the Dubai 7s. Whether new to the sport or seeking higher-level competition, all students have the opportunity to play at a level that suits their ability and ambitions.

FOOTBALL (BOYS & GIRLS)

Football is one of the most popular sports at BSAK, offered to both boys and girls across all age groups. Through expert coaching, students enhance their skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking. The programme includes a tiered competition structure, giving players the chance to compete in school leagues, inter-school fixtures based across the UAE, and larger tournaments at various levels.

FUNCTIONAL FITNESS (GIRLS)

Functional Fitness offers an energetic and inclusive space where girls take part in dynamic workouts designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance. Through bodyweight training, circuits, and functional movement exercises, girls develop resilience, confidence, and teamwork skills while building lifelong habits that promote health, wellbeing, and empowerment.

NETBALL (GIRLS)

Netball is a dynamic and inclusive sport at BSAK, offered to girls across multiple age groups. Through expert coaching, students develop agility, teamwork, and game awareness. Players take part in school leagues, inter-school fixtures across the UAE, and competitive tournaments, all while building confidence, resilience, and a strong team spirit.

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Designed to support athletic performance across all sports, our Strength and Conditioning programme helps students improve core strength, mobility, speed, and injury prevention. Tailored to each student’s needs, this programme is ideal for those looking to gain a competitive edge or simply improve their overall fitness. This is a non-competitive offering that complements all sporting disciplines at BSAK.

SWIMMING

BSAK’s swimming programme caters to both competitive and recreational swimmers. Squad Swimming is tailored for those aiming to race at a high level, with a focus on technique, endurance, and competitive performance. Open Swimming allows students to improve stroke technique and general water confidence. Swimmers regularly participate in galas, school meets, and regional competitions, with opportunities for all levels to compete and progress.

VOLLEYBALL

Our volleyball programme helps students build agility, coordination, and strong team dynamics in a fast-paced environment. Open to all ability levels, it combines skills training with tactical development. Students compete across a range of events and competitions such as the ADISSA championships and GCC tournaments, ensuring both recreational players and serious athletes have pathways to progress and succeed.

TASKMASTERS Open to All

Inspired by the hit TV show, Taskmaster:BSAK turns students into contestants in fun, quirky challenges that build creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. With tasks for every personality, students develop resilience, confidence, and communication—all while having a blast. A fun, inclusive club where everyone gets a chance to shine!

WHARTON YOUTH PROGRAMME

Years 11, 12 & 13

Join this exciting investment competition for Year 10–13 students! In teams, you'll use a stock market simulator to build portfolios, manage risk, and make strategic decisions. With teacher support, develop key skills in teamwork, communication, and financial analysis. A great opportunity to explore investing in a fun, hands-on way!

INSPIRE SPORTS - BSME DANCE

BSAK Secondary BSME Dance Group invites experienced dancers to train and try-out for the BSME Dance Competition. Training starts on Monday 22nd September, at 3pm - 4pm.
