‘Malleable Surface’ is a project that explores various relationships between surface, body, and container through the invention of a new, reconfigurable system. Surface functions throughout as a container for the body and hangs along various datum lines that respond to body proportions. The malleable property of the surface means it adheres to the body, strengthening the physical relationship between surface and body. The container and existing train surfaces host three mechanical systems to support the flexibility of the surface. The combination and interaction between surface, body, and container are critical to the performance of the system.
