Bookmania was designed by Mark Simonson in 2011, a revival of the 1960’s Bookman Oldstyle. Bookman Oldstyle started development in 1858 when A.C. Phemister created Antique Old Style No.7. This typeface came about from Old Style Antique #310 made by Bruce Foundry, which later was renamed Bookman Oldstyle. This font contains 682 alternative characters with sweeping curves. It as well provides alternative characters for letters like “g” with a closed counter and a closed “a”.
