A Note From The Director

Leaping’ lizards! Opening night is finally here, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share this incredible journey with you. Over the past four months, 24 remarkable students have worked tirelessly to bring Annie Jr. to life. Together, we’ve created more than a production we’ve built a community rooted in creativity, collaboration, and hope.

Throughout my years in theater, I’ve learned that it’s about so much more than what happens on stage. It’s about discovering the power of connection, finding joy in the journey, and holding onto hope even in the most challenging times. Annie Jr. beautifully reflects this: Annie’s optimism teaches us to face life’s hardships with courage and love, reminding us that no matter how dark it gets, the sun will always come out tomorrow.

What makes this production truly special is the students who have brought it to life. They have embraced Annie’s spirit of resilience and kindness in ways that have inspired me every single day. In their actions, creativity, and unwavering dedication, I’ve seen the extraordinary power of community and the beauty that comes from supporting one another. These young actors have shown me how small acts of kindness and moments of joy can create lasting impact.

Special thanks goes to Mira Bradshaw for her visionary set and puppetry designs Elizabeth Lucido for her stunning scenic artistry, Ernest Pruneda for his impeccable props, and Holly Braly and Peter Lopez for elevating our music To the parents, the Port Aransas Community Theater, and the Aurora Arts Theater your generosity and encouragement have been the foundation of this production

As this marks my final production with the Coastal Bend Homeschool Theater Collective, it’s a bittersweet moment. This program has been my home, filled with countless memories, lessons, and the incredible privilege of watching students grow and flourish. I leave with a heart full of gratitude and a deep appreciation for the community we’ve built together.

It is my hope that tonight, you feel the same spark of hope and connection that has carried us through this journey. Thank you for celebrating these students, supporting their talent, and sharing this moment with us. Together, we’ve created something truly special a reflection of the joy, resilience, and light that theater brings into our lives.

Happy Holiday, and enjoy the show !

A Note From The Assistant Director

As a homeschool mother, when you see a need, you fill it. It’s been 2 years since we began Coastal Bend Homeschool Theatre Collective, and I couldn’t be more proud of our students!!!

Annie is a HUGE show and we chose it because it teaches us that we can find hope and love in spite of difficult circumstances, and that is something I hope our students take with them always. Watching each and every one of them learn, grow, and blossom has been nothing short of amazing! I’ve watched them come out of their shells, grow in confidence, and become people they didn’t know they could be.

I would like to thank Mary Chapa for wanting to give us a place for the kids to fall in love with theatre. I want to thank Peter Lopez for his guidance and help in being a vocal director (learning from the best in the game has been amazing). I want to thank all the parents for bringing their kids every week, for putting up with our craziness, and encouraging their kids to be the best they can!

I want to thank Ozzy Vela for coming in and making sure we sound the best we can. I want to thank my husband, Paul Braly, for all his help with the set and lending a hand with whatever we need. And I want to thank Bryan Meza, my friend, my partner in this endeavor, and one of the most creative people I have the absolute pleasure to know and to work with.

Thank you, Bryan, for taking on this class with me, getting it off the ground, and helping show these kids what they are capable of!

Thank all of you for joining us in supporting our kids and for supporting theatre arts! It’s been a beautiful journey It’s not always Easy Street, but the sun will come out tomorrow!
