URBANbuild is an award winning design/build program which gives students the opportunity to design, develop and carry out a low-income housing project. In the fall semester, students divide into teams of two and propose designs for URBANbuild. The design chosen as the winner is then fully developed by the entire studio (12 students) with full construction drawings, schedules, physical and digital models, and renderings. As a member of the design development team, I worked with 2 other students to conduct design studies and create proposals for UB18’s facade and porches. Ultimately, my facade design was chosen for UB18 and is currently being constructed. Each rendering was created from a 3D model originally from CAD, manipulated in Rhino, and materialized in VRay. Post-processing was done in Adobe Photoshop for each design proposal.

Second semester of sophomore year, students were challenged to design and carryout a collective housing project. In my design, in order to shift what people normally think of as communal housing, aggregation was utilized to create a more inclusive and diverse living situation. Instead of a communal housing complex that tends to one certain audience, the idea of conglomeration is not only vital to the design of the building but to the people living inside as well. Containing a multitude of apartment styles, this project’s intention is to attract a diaspora of residents whether they be small families or single professionals. In addition to this, horizontal communal spaces act as areas where residents can enjoy each other’s company and get to know their neighbors. Overall, the collage like manner of the building, as well as those living inside, drives the need for a more diverse community. Pictured below are the project’s architectural drawings done in Rhino and renderings which were modeled in Rhino, materialized in VRay, and processed in Adobe Photoshop.
2ND FLOOR PLAN
PROFESSOR: Carrie Norman
In this course, students were challenged to utilize their architectural and design skills, and apply them to artistically driven prompts. Design prompts in this course varied from foor plan extrusions to a gallery curation. Rhino and VRay were used in this course to ground our design and artistic abilities in architectural skill and knowledge. Firstly, pictured below is the iterative process that went into designing this frst assignment. Using precedents such as the foor plans of Casa da Musica by OMA and Sonsbeek Pavilion by Aldo van Eyck, I morphed my favorite parts of those respective architectural projects into one that was my own. And the deeper this repetitive process went, the more my design evolved. By its fnal iteration, the morphing of the two existing foor plans led to a kid’s playground scene, called “Confection Park”.
In this second assignment, students were asked to pick one precedent and create a 3D modeled version of that precedent—but in an entirely new way. Coined by the term “Deep Fake”, this assignment aims to challenge students on what is real and what is fake. How “real” is our own recreation of an already existing thing? Using the precedent Dali Duchamp by OMMX, 2018, I was able create my own version of an art gallery. One that I could navigate however I wanted. In my version of OMMX’s art gallery, I decided to include some of my favorite pieces of work. In Rhino and VRay, I was able to include a taxidermy shark by Damien Hurst, self-portraits by Cindy Sherman, neon sculptures by Tracey Emin, and a mirrored sculpture inspired by Jef Koons. All in all, this assignment was the morphing of my own personal artistic creativity and architectural programmatic work. Pictured below is the fnal rendering of my proposed “Deep Fake Art Exhibit”.

In this course, students were expected to build upon key concepts learned in the previous digital media course—but elevated to a higher level. Within this advanced class, techniques pertaining to rendering and digital art were expanded upon immensely. Throughout the course, students were taught new and diferent ways to create texture, fgure, and form. And for our fnal assignment, we were expected to display our well rounded knowledge of Rhino, Vray, and digital art as a whole. For my project, I decided to create a fctional luxury key chain brand, called CHERRI, which displayed my love for fashion, digital creation, visual art and architectural programs. For the launch of CHERRI, I created a Rhino model of the key chain, followed by 3D printing and fabric treatment. In the end, my hypothetical product physically came into fruition, followed by editorials and a website (fully equipped with the step by step process of CHERRI)—all created by myself. Below is the link to the CHERRI website. In addition, pictured below are two important editorials to the campaign.

INTERNSHIP TIME: May 2022 - August 2022
Sanna Pollannen, a small LA based interior design frm, focuses on the luxury Los Angeles housing market and producing good home design. During my time at the frm, I was a part of a Beverly Hills condo development where, from the lead designer, I was given the opportunity to produce realistic renderings and depictions of what the luxurious condominium was going to look like. Utilizing the frm’s construction documents, I was able to model and render out the proposed kitchen, master bathroom and even condo lobby. All renderings were modeled in Rhino, materialized in VRay and processed in Adobe Photoshop.
INTERNSHIP TIME: June 2023 - August 2023
Maestri Studio is a Dallas based turn-key, full-service, architecture and interior design frm that has designed and produced a multitude of projects from commercial to residential. During my time with the small team of 8, I was allocated towards pricing of interiors, pulling hardware and lighting for interiors, converting hand drawings into CAD drawings, fne tuning construction drawings in CAD, communicating with Dallas showrooms, as well as taking architectural drawings into rendered photos via Adobe Photoshop. And around the end of my time at this internship, I was graciously given the opportunity to pull my own selections for a client—which let me utilize every skill I learned toward someone’s own specifc vision.
ARTIST: Tabi
With my passion for visual arts as a whole, it felt like a natural venture to create album and single covers. So when I was approached by artist and friend, Tabi, to create covers for her music, I agreed immediately. Art direction was done by Tabi, who guided the aesthetic of the covers, while I brought to the table my artistic technique and profciency in Adobe Photoshop. Pictured below are three of the covers created for Tabi’s singles, “DNA”, “On Read”, and “Ofine”.
