The words tell a tale of new beginnings,
bright futures, and transformative results — brimming with dramatic moments, decisive figures, and distinguishing themes. The chapters possess a clarity of vision rooted in a longstanding mission of preparing young men for life — a life colored in Brown & Gold and defined by Courage, Honor, Truth. THE STORY BEGAN IN THE FALL OF 2012 — at the School’s Annual
Dinner & Meeting — when Chairman of the Board Sanjeev K. Mehra announced Brunswick would embark on a $100-million capital campaign to preserve and strengthen its founding mission. “This will be the largest fundraising effort in our history and one of enormous import to the future of the School,” said the father of four Brunswick boys. Headmaster Thomas W. Philip underscored the importance of investing to adapt Brunswick’s educational program to the challenges of life in a more complex and global society. “The reality is that over the last 110 years, the world has changed enormously,” he said. “The challenge of teaching Courage, Honor, and Truth is so much greater than it has ever been. And that makes it more important than it’s ever been. “We want to move further still,” he said. “We want to adapt to the world in which our boys are now living. “That’s what we can do in this campaign: To emphasize — all the time, in every situation, for our boys, from small to large, as they learn and grow — that, above all else, Courage, Honor, and Truth will define them now and as young men and leaders in the future. In 2012, 110 years into the wonderful story that is Brunswick, I really believe we’ve come to a transformative moment,” Philip said.

“We’re now at a moment where we can bring Brunswick to the next level.” Thomas D. O’Malley, Jr., an alumnus and father of three Brunswick boys, and Michael A. Troy, father of two Brunswick boys, stepped up to lead the Campaign — called “Above All Else: Courage, Honor, Truth” — in an effort that would, no doubt, enhance the educational experience for all Brunswick boys of then and now. “It’s a special alchemy that takes place here,” they said. “And that’s why we’ve come together. Our purpose, as the title ‘Above All Else . . .’ suggests, is to make it possible for Brunswick to continue to take this recipe and turn it into gold for our sons and for those who will follow in their footsteps.” At its core, the Campaign focused on three central funding objectives: Attracting and retaining the very best faculty; enriching the academic experience for all students; and reinforcing the distinctive attributes of a Brunswick education.
With $42 million in gifts and pledges secured during the Campaign’s “quiet phase,” the Brunswick community was off and running toward its monumental goal. And it would race across the finish line in record time.

Our Most Profound Gratitude We began the very ambitious work of the “Above All Else: Courage, Honor, Truth” Capital Campaign in September 2012, announcing a goal of raising $100 million — the largest-ever campaign in the history of Brunswick School, and amongst the largest campaigns for schools of our kind in the country. Early on, we increased the goal by $4 million to fund an additional and very important project — and we hoped to wrap up our efforts in five years, the standard time frame for successful campaigns. Fortunately, thanks to the incredible generosity of the Brunswick community, we’re exceptionally pleased to report that, a full year ahead of schedule, we’ve achieved and surpassed our goal, having raised a final total of $106.5 million in support of “Above All Else: Courage, Honor, Truth.” To those of you who have supported our Campaign — to the many parents, alumni, and friends — on behalf of all of us at Brunswick, we want to offer a profound and resounding thank you! In these pages, we detail the many achievements resulting from this transformative Campaign — all of the ways in which Brunswick is so much better today because of your generosity. Mehra (P ’10, ’12, ’13, ’20), played host to the New England Prep School Water Polo Championship — with the Bruins emerging as the tournament victors in only their fifth year of competition. Facts and figures about the Natatorium include:

new turf field on Edwards Campus, in the summer of 2015, in an anticipated and scheduled replacement for the original artificial turf, installed in 2004. Manufactured in Italy, near Milan, the new playing surface, called GeoTurf, is a high-performance, lead-free product with an organic infill blend of coconut fiber, cork, and rice husk. Similar to natural grass — completely organic and chemical free — the infill provides ideal G-Max levels (shock absorption), superior foot stability, and low synthetic turf temperatures in the hottest of weather. In addition, the product is endorsed by the National Green Energy Council — exceeding
