ABE courses at BIP are designed to offer a comprehensive learning experience that goes beyond traditional education. Our curriculum includes contextualized learning, which integrates real-world scenarios and practical applications to make learning relevant and engaging. Additionally, we emphasize essential skills such as money management, technology, and advocacy to empower our students in their daily lives.

Students ready for employment can engage in various opportunities, including on-campus transition crews and independent job placements within the community. Our on-campus employment transition crews offer hands-on experience in areas such as food preparation, yard maintenance, custodial work, and cable box/cord restoration. These roles provide valuable skills and practical knowledge that are essential for success in the workplace. Our supported employment services are made possible through a strong partnership with the North Carolina Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), local employers, and BIP’s dedicated job coaches. This collaborative approach ensures that students receive the support and guidance they need to thrive in their roles.
