Aloha Westside ‘Ohana,

I am pleased to introduce my highly motivated and extremely talented legislative team for the 2021 session (from left to right). The skilled, Mr. Dylan Whitsell (Legislative Aid) has a degree in International Affairs, has versatile embassy experience while working in Japan, and has also previously worked for the City and County of Honolulu. My dedicated Chief of Staff, Keahi Renaud. The “boots on the ground” and versatile Patrice Tanna (Community Liaison). Our energetic Ms. Anam Maniar (Legislative Intern) is a student at our local UH Manoa obtaining her degrees in Public Health and Political Science who was recently accepted into the UH Graduate Program in Public Health. And last, but not least, unstoppable, Mr. Aric Harp (Committee Clerk) who is currently a Civil Engineering student from the University of Dayton as well as Chaminade xv University. They continue to work diligently to make this session very successful.

RECOGNIZING & CONGRATULATING PASTOR ALLEN CARDINES, JR WHEREAS, there are those individuals who faithfully manifest a desire, a vision, and a dedication to promote a safe and healthy environment for all families in Hawai‘i nei; and WHEREAS, PASTOR ALLEN CARDINES, JR., is such a person, raised in the community of Nānākuli and a proud graduate of Nānākuli High and Intermediate School, after which he married his beautiful wife, Mari and together they have four wonderful children and many incredible grandchildren; and WHEREAS, PASTOR ALLEN CARDINES, JR., has spent many years in public service with his commitment to Hawaiian values and the power of Aloha being embodied in his dedication to preventing and healing childhood abuse where neglect in trauma-impacted families is prevalent in the communities that he serves; and WHEREAS, PASTOR ALLEN CARDINES, JR., brings together local, state and national organizations from the public and private sectors by providing high energy trainings to promote positive empowerment and transformation committed to strengthening the long-term welfare and overall well-being of the people of the Wai‘anae Coast and Hawai‘i; and WHEREAS, PASTOR ALLEN CARDINES, JR., continues to serve as the president of Transformation Hawai‘i; president and chief operation officer of the Power of Aloha organization; Hawai‘i State Commission on Fatherhood, and in several community groups that include Honolulu Police Department Community Policing Team Nānākuli, Hui Ho‘omalu of Partners in Development, Board Member of National Christian Foundation, to name a few; therefore, now BE IT RESOLVED by the Thirty-First Legislature of the State of Hawai`i, Regular Session of 2021, that this body hereby commends PASTOR ALLEN CARDINES, JR. for his outstanding public service and extends its warmest aloha and best wishes for continued success in fulfilling his vision of families in all of Hawai‘i living in Aloha and flourishing.
