Academy of General Dentistry Speaker is Former NYSDA Speaker

ROBERT M. PESKIN, D.D.S., of Garden City, Long Island (Nassau County), was installed as speaker of the Academy of General Dentistry House of Delegates at the AGD Annual Meeting in November in Chicago. Dr. Peskin previously served as speaker of the NYSDA House from 2009 to 2015, the first person to hold that position. In 2016, he received NYSDA’s Distinguished Service Award for the leading role he played in reorganizing the Association’s governance to it current House of Delegates structure. Dr. Peskin, a certified parliamentarian, also served as speaker of the house of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and was recently re-elected vice president of the American Institute of Parliamentarians. A graduate of the University at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Peskin completed general practice and dental anesthesiology residencies at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He maintains a private dental practice on Long Island devoted primarily to the treatment of the anxious, apprehensive and special needs patient. And he is clinical associate professor in the Division of Hospital Dentistry, Stony Brook. He is a fellow of the AGD, American Association of Hospital Dentists, American and International colleges of Dentists, and Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is 2010 recipient of the New York State PFA Distinguished Service Award. He is a delegate to the NYSDA House and a member of the NYSDA Council on Dental Education and Licensure.
