Brookwood Middle School
From the Principal: Dr. Muriel McClam-Hollimon Dear Brookwood Middle School Families, Staff, and Students, Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year, where we will “Reimagine Education to Unlock Potential.” Thank You Families for joining us in December for our Real Men Read event and our Winter Concert. We hope you enjoyed both events. Our Real Men Read event was the first of many events where we will have men come out to speak with our students and share their stories about reading good books and learning from them. We had the Glenwood Chief of Police, Chief Peddycord speak, Coach Karvell Bailey, and Mr. Arthur Ivy. These gentlemen spoke to our students and families sharing their experiences in their careers and their love of reading. We had a good session and hope to have more in the future. We also had an enjoyable Winter Concert with the Brookwood Junior HS students. Our Band Instructor, Ms. Bauman is working hard with our students to grow the BMS band and we are appreciative of her hard work. Our students were excited to perform, and they did a great job. Mr. Ostrega our violin instructor, along with our students, also performed in the concert and many of our beginning violinists performed well with their peers that are advanced violin performers. Ms. Bennett, our Gospel Choir instructor, has several of our students that recently joined the choir this year. It was nice to see that our students enjoyed singing and performing at the concert. If you missed the concert, you missed an awesome event, and we hope to see you at our Spring Concert. Lastly, I look forward to meeting everyone and discussing how we will collaborate to elevate our students toward academic excellence.
