Gate/Sentry installation and resident input is going very well.
We have had several sessions whereby residents could come in and get help entering their information into their Gate/Sentry account.
I know many of you feel overwhelmed with the process, but we will have help-sessions for those who need help. It is not mandatory that you enroll in Gate/Sentry if you prefer not to.
Thanks to Ken Duncan, Brenda McMahon, Mike Green, Arlene Ahrens, Sandy Kaliscak, Greg Schubert, Patrona Turman and the Admin office were on hand to help the residents at these sessions.
The new exit gates have been installed. Please note that they are slower rising and descending. Do not try to go thru following another vehicle. Let the gate do its job.
We did not have a Workshop due to Ian, the hurricane. We were so fortunate to have been out of the path of this terrible hurricane. Our hearts and prayers go out to the many lives lost and destruction of homes and businesses south of us.
The Amendment/Budget voting will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 beginning at 8:00 am in the Clubhouse, South Hall. Please get out and vote.
November 16, 2022 at 7:00 pm is the regular monthly Board of Directors Meeting in the Clubhouse.
Don't forget to save November 19th for our Fall Festival. Lots of fun activities, food and entertainment. Have a blessed Thanksgiving. If you are traveling stay safe. Welcome back to our “snowbirds”.
Thank you, Ann Webster, BCPO President

Married F. Eugene Foster on September 2, 1940 and together raised 6 children.
The Fosters retired in Brookridge in 1980, enjoying boating, tennis, swimming, golf and entertaining their many friends. In 2010 the Brookridge Tennis Courts were dedicated in her honor as “The Foster-Krygowski Tennis Center”. Millie also enjoyed teaching Water Aerobics to other residents (which she developed and taught over 30 years until she was 96) at the community pool. Brookridge was blessed to have known this Lady!!
Brookridge Community Residents: The Unit Rep group is looking for two new members, due to recent resignations.
If anyone would be interested in joining our group of Neighborhood Ambassadors, we would be happy to hear from you.
The time commitment is minimal, and it's fun meeting and helping our new residents.

Almost everyone is familiar with Hot Tubs and Jacuzzis, but I wonder if everyone is equally familiar with the story of how the Jacuzzi as we know it came to be. The Jacuzzi family, seven Italian brother, emigrated to California from northern Italy in the early 1900s. They established a company making laminate wood airplane propellers and agricultural pumps and enjoyed substantial success.
In the mid-1950s one of the brother sons was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and his brother, Candido, invented a submersible pump to provide hydrotherapy treatments. Subsequent improvements have resulted in the product we know today
Many Brookridge residents enjoy the fun and benefits of a Jacuzzi or Hot Tub at their residence. These units must be placed behind the rear plane of the home unless installed under the roof of an enclosed lanai, porch or carport. Suitable screening is required and materials such as lattice, folding panels or even live plants may be used for this purpose. There are additional requirements for a Jacuzzi of Hot Tub installation and approval from the ACC is mandatory.
When out shopping:
1. Always be aware of your surroundings and park your car in a well-lit area.
2. Never carry large amounts of cash. If you go to an ATM, do so in daytime hours.
3. Never secure valuables or expensive items in your car. Take them with you or leave them home.
4. When you return to your car, stay alert and have your keys in your hand ready to use
Avoid becoming a victim at home:
1. Store gifts or wrapped presents in an area that cannot be seen from outdoors.
2. Do not advertise what gifts you have received. Destroy box labels before disposing of boxes in sealed, opaque garbage bags.
The Brookridge Fall Festival will be held on November 19th.
We are asking for volunteers to help with the Ladies of Brookridge activities: Share the Wealth, Liquor Basket Raffle, Thanksgiving Dinner Basket and the Chinese Auction.
It sounds like a lot but any help will be welcome.
The next members meeting will be on Monday, at 1:00 pmNovember 21st in the South Hall of the Clubhouse.
The world needs more smiles, laughter and chillaxing!!
The Brookridge Men's Club will be helping with the Fall Festival on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 10:00 am – 3:00 pm at the BCPO Clubhouse.
The Men's Club is planning some fun and exciting events for the end of the year and going into 2023, read the News & Views.
All men of Brookridge are invited to attend the meeting on the last Wednesday of the month on the 26th at 3:00 pm at the Pavilion.
Hope to see you there!!
The committee meets on November 3rd at 10:00 am in the Clubhouse
By the time you read this article, we hope the extreme heat is behind us. It's been tough getting out there in the heat to weed, pick up cigarette butts and other trash, bur we have a great group of volunteers working hard to get it done. Please help us keep Brookridge beautiful by not littering.
Thank you to the residents who have donated the small American Flags. We always welcome more of those. They will be used for appropriate holidays. If anyone is interested in donating flags, please contact Jim Snyder or any other Beautification Committee member. Also, we always depend on monetary donations for mulch, fertilizer, weed killer, etc.
We always welcome new volunteers, especially those who have a love for gardening, knowledge of Florida plants and landscaping, or those who would just like something more to do. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact Jim Snyder, Chairman at 352-596-1804. Meetings are held the first Thursday of the month at 10:00 am in the Clubhouse.
Donations can be made by check payable to BCPO with “Beautification Committee” noted in the memo section and delivered to the Administration Office, or give to any member of the Committee.
The Veterans Committee will be hosting the annual Toys for Tots boxes in Brookridge again this year. Drop boxes will be in the Administration Office and Clubhouse.
All toys collected here will be sorted and delivered to children in Hernando County. Last year toys were delivered to over 3,000 Hernando families. More information to follow.
The Veterans Committee will meet on November 7, 2022 at 11:00 am in Room E of the Clubhouse. The agenda will update on Toys for Tots.

Kings & Queens are a group of couples that play 9 holes of golf Monday afternoons - alternate shot format for the twosome. If you don't have a male/female partner, you may play as two ladies or two gents. If you haven't played yet, it might be a great way to meet your fellow golfers. This is a fun group. I'm sure you will enjoy it, but don't be too serious, as it is meant to be fun while enjoying our golf course. Newcomers are always welcome.
The cost to play is $1.00 per couple. All money is returned to the winners. It is not necessary to sign up any day, just come to the club ready to play golf.
Looking forward to seeing you Monday afternoons!
Our league plays "Fun Golf" year-round. Golfers of all levels are invited. New members are always welcome.
Our priority is having fun - most of our members are playing from the red or silver tees this year. Come out & enjoy the course with us.
Due to Covid-19 we will not exchange money or score cards this year. We'll continue playing "Fun Golf".
There will be no dues to join & play. No weekly payouts or points.
We tee off at 8:00 AM every Monday. Please meet in the parking lot at 7:30 am and form into groups around 7:45 am.
A busy season is coming up and the Proshop is looking to hire extra staff for the months of Jan, Feb & Mar 2023.
We hire based on enthusiasm and personality & experience is a benefit. There are special events throughout the year and there might be the opportunity for extra hours.
If you enjoy working with people and would like a couple of shifts a week, this would be a great job for you.
Pick up applications at the proshop.
Many of the snowbirds are back. There was a lot of fun on the tennis courts for Halloween, and we're looking forward to fall treats as Thanksgiving is getting closer. We will enjoy our regular game of tennis on Turkey Day, then snack on pre-dinner appetizers and Bloody Mary's as we wait for our meals to magically appear. Maybe even watch a little football! And some parades…
Anyone who wants to learn the game is truly welcome. You will find us on the courts every day except Sunday, playing from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. There is no charge to play, and all skill levels are welcome.
If you are looking for fun, great exercise, and new friends, come and join us!
As our winter friends return, the shuffleboard courts are coming alive!
Beginning November 1, we will begin play at 1:30 pm. When we start days, remember to bring a nickel a game. We play 3 games on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Anyone can play. We'll teach you if you aren't familiar with the game. Everyone is willing to offer pointers. We had so many new players last year who have become very good with a stick. We'll even let you play if you're really good!
No excuses! See you on the courts!
GAMES: Mon. Wed. Fri. 10 am - noon Thurs & Sun. 7:00 pm

Each Thursday evening at 6:00 pm, we meet in Room D at the Clubhouse for prayer. Everyone is welcome to join us in praying for our Country, our State, our County, and our Community
Prayer changes things! Phil. 4:6 says: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to GOD."
Come join us each Thursday evening. Note: There will be NO Prayer Meeting on the 24th
For more info, contact Pastor Benno or Phoebe at 352-701-0044.
We want YOU! Come to the Clubhouse Room C every Wednesday Evening 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. God blessed us during the movement of Hurricane Ian. Yes, it wreaked havoc at another location but God knew how much worse it could have been had it come to us.
The weather changes remind us that the end of time is approaching. There is only one way to survive. Believe in Jesus Christ NOW! Once the dispensation of grace is finished the opportunity of living eternally with God will be gone.
Words to know: Romans 1:19-20 (KJV) “Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”
November is the month that we celebrate Thanksgiving. But as Christians, we should thankful at all times. The Bible also says: "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together and so much more as you see the day approaching." (Heb 10:25)
Pastor Benno and I count it a privilege to minister the WORD of GOD here in Brookridge. You will be encouraged and inspired by the messages GOD has given Pastor Benno. GOD told us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. Brookridge is our world!

I know in my heart there are angels I've seen quite a few today They come in all shapes and sizes With love to give away
Taking care of our Mothers and Fathers Brothers and Sisters too Watching over our loved ones When it's more than we can do.
Not the kind that fly with velvety wings Or blow thru trumpets of gold They have needles and pills and other things To help those who have grown old
You can't see their wings or halos But believe me, I know they are there Hidden in part by an oversized heart Filled with loving care
In place of a harp, one is pushing a cart Another's chariot was a wheelchair Some scurry about with pen and chart Tending to your every care
Always smiling and cheerful In a world full of bed pans and pain They are the ray of sunshine To help chase away your rain
There is a special place in heaven For those angels without wings God will always be with them Their praises HE will sing.
Our deepest gratitude for taking care of the warriors who took care of us.
thank you can never fulfill the depth of their sacrifice.
A wise woman Claudia Pemberton once said, “America
soldiers would be
angels.”

Bingo is going along fine. Our Snowbirds are starting to come home so things should pick up even more. We are seeing a lot of new faces.
As always, we are looking for Volunteers to help lighten the load. Hoping some of you will consider helping. It would only be for one Friday a month. If interested, please come on up to the Clubhouse some Friday and anyone can help you. We are also looking for more callers. Miss Ellie is up there on Tuesday afternoons at 3:00 pm to teach you how to call.
We have one more request to make. We are looking for someone who would be willing to come up to the Clubhouse on Friday night from 7:00 pm to about 8:30 pm to help Miss Ellie clean up the kitchen. This would be greatly appreciated as it is too much for one person to have to do alone. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving everyone.
It is hard to believe that we are coming to the end of another year. We are closer than we have ever been to JESUS coming again. I hope you are ready for that day. Matthew 24:42 says: "watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your LORD is coming."
While we watch and wait, we should be full of thanksgiving for the LORD has done for us. We should sing GOD's praises every day. Come and join us at the Gospel Jubilee Monday, November 21st from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm for an evening of singing praises and giving thanks to our LORD and SAVIOR.
This is a FREE event, open to the public. So come and join us. For more information contact Ben or Phoebe at 352-701-0044.

Aqua exercise is a gentle total body workout that is gentle on your joints and muscles. The exercises offer benefits for balance and coordination without the fear of falling.
Put on that bathing suit and introduce some water-based activity into your life.
Studies have shown that maintaining regular physical activity can help prevent many common diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes. Exercise produces endorphins (the “feel good” hormone), which act as a stress reliever and leaves you feeling happy and satisfied. Regular physical activity and fine-tuned motor skills also benefit cognitive function.
Our class is for Brookridge residents and their houseguests (Sorry, no children). The cos is fifty cents per class and the first class is free!

November is definitely going to be a fun month for the Brookridge Singles, and with some good eating, too. Here's what lies ahead:
Our first monthly meet is on November 13th and is Trivia night hosted by me. And before you groan about how hard these games have been, let me tell you this is all new, definitely different and guaranteed to be fun.
Our second monthly meet is on November 27th, just three days after Thanksgiving and is our annual “Anything but Turkey” potluck. Members bring any food to share so long as it's not turkey.
Both meetings start at 6 p.m. in the Clubhouse's main hall. There is a $2 donation each evening.
But that's not all. We're back to bowling each Tuesday afternoon. Just show up at Strike City at 2 p.m. You don't have to be any good to bowl with us because we sure aren't.
Our monthly luncheon for Tuesday, November 15th, at the Bonefish Grill. Bernice does a great job putting our luncheons together, so sign up at the Sunday meeting or call her and let her know you plan to attend. We will meet at the restaurant at 1:00 pm.
And finally, we are planning a trip on Monday, November 21st to the Webster Flea Market. It's huge and if you've never been it's an adventure. Row after row after row of vendors selling all kinds of items you probably don't need but can't live without. Lots of food trucks are scattered around and there's even a great farmers market with fresh fruits and vegetables. We will meet at the tennis courts and carpool to Webster. Get there at 8:45 am because we will be leaving at 9:00 that morning. Sign-up sheets will be at our next meeting.
Our club is open to all single residents of Brookridge. If you have any questions or comments, call Debby Burns at 980-613-0395.
