Q 1

Q 2

What are your fondest memories about your time at Brookhurst International School?

My fondest memories at Brookhurst revolve around the incredible support from teachers and peers, our lively school events, and the unity we had as students.

Leading as the school president in 2022 was a privilege, and I cherish the moments when we worked together to create memorable experiences, especially the community-building activities that made us feel like a family and to be specific preparing for our prom night.

Which values did Brookhurst impart on you that have an impact on you today?

Brookhurst taught me integrity, resilience, and compassion. These values continue to shape my personal and professional life, reminding me to stay honest, overcome challenges, and show empathy toward others. They’ve become part of my foundation as I pursue new goals.

Lawyering can trace its origin way back. Historians believe that the ancestors of the modern-day lawyers emerged as early as the heydays of the Greco-Roman civilization. In Athens, the oration is a common practice in tackling the case of a person. The orator could be the accused himself or a friend who can speak on his behalf.

Q 1

Q 2

What are your fondest memories about your time at Brookhurst International School?

My fondest memories in Brookhurst must be hanging out with my friends at the sports pitch, biology lessons and class trips. Always joking around and building everlasting bonds with each other.

Which values did Brookhurst impart on you that have an effect on you today?

Without a doubt, Brookhurst has taught me integrity, leadership skills and being sociable. The teachers have instilled me with integrity, which I’d say is a very important virtue in being a dependable and stable member of society Without integrity you are bound to be led astray by the things of the world, and I’m very thankful for being taught that.

Being a leader can be a very stressful and overwhelming position, however, with the guidance of teachers and counsellors at Brookhurst, I’ve surely grown to be able to manage and strive in the setting of leadership.

The warm and accepting environments at Brookhurst is the epitome of the saying ‘A home away from home’ c

Q 3

What did you benefit from most by doing your studies at Brookhurst?

That would be the enlightenment from every class I ever attended. Whether it was group discussions, individual assignments, or syllabus coverage from the teacher, I would always learn something new, from educational knowledge to day-to-day general knowledge. I really miss being back on school campus.

Q 4

What are you currently up to (Academically/Professionally)?

I am currently furthering my studies at Swinburne University of Technology in Malaysia studying Environmental Science. Hopefully i will conclude my education her in order to later on pursue a job in the Environmental science and conservation. Let us preserve our planet.

Brookhurst is the epitome of the saying ‘A home away from home’. No minute went by without feeling the warm embrace of friends beside you and the constant protection and nurture from the teachers. I will forever be grateful for being a part of the Brookhurst family.

“We owe it to ourselves and to the next generation to conserve the environment so that we can bequeath our children a sustainable world that benefits all.”
Wangari Maathai

Q 6

Tell us about your transition to university life in another country? What has been your experience?

I can’t lie, it isn’t an easy experience It can be very stimulating, but the moment you get to a place you ’ ve dreamt of arriving to, all that just seems to dissipate. In terms of adapting to the culture, it was quite a smooth transition. Asians and Africans are not that different. Our ways of life are considerably similar, so I would say that I fell comfortably into their rhythm.

What advice would you give a Brookhurst graduate looking to study abroad?

I would say, go for it. It’ll be a great experience. There’s just something about being in a different environment. The independent lifestyle can be difficult to get used to, but that feeling will come to pass. It’s a bit exhilarating when you get used to it. Although, fun aside, be very careful about sticking to what you came here for.

Different countries have different sets of cultural rules. Before going to the country, learn about them and try your hardest not to overstep those rules once you get there, cause after all, you’ll be your own responsibility

What skills, hobbies or causes have you picked up since leaving Brookhurst? Q 7

I joined the Swinburne Sarawak Green Club, which is an inschool environmental conservation organization that strives to raise green awareness in Swinburne Sarawak. With the amount of academic screen time I have to do during school hours and assignment completions I try my best to go for walks around the neighborhood whenever I have the time to. I volunteer as a Youth Leader at a church as well.

Fill us in on your future plans? Q 8

After graduating from university I’m planning to get a job in the environmental sector I hope to use my passion for the environment and my knowledge to change the world. I also want to get into philanthropy and dedicate myself to helping others.

Be real to yourself know what you want in life and go for it At the stage you guys are in right now you will have a lot of peer pressure so try being a leader not a follower your friends shouldn't influence your decision making especially when you think is the right thing to do. I remember Mr. Mathenge telling us that most of the people we roll with in school will not always be with you when you leave school, this so true most of your friends with have different paths in life

Focus on your study because the final grades you make is going to be yours alone. Cherish these years this is a time to build lifelong memories and the right friendships Keep working hard, and the future will unfold in ways you may not expect!
