The Bronx Charter Schools for Better Learning (BBL) are educational leaders in advancing equity and access for all children, particularly students of color. Welcome to the Better Learning Academy!
We are dedicated to providing our students with unprecedented access to a wide array of free, after-school enrichment experiences. Our interdisciplinary and project-based curriculum offers exposure to Science, technology, math and engineering (STEM), the Arts, and rigorous academics, challenging our students to demonstrate their intelligence.
The Better Learning Academy opens a world of possibilities to our students, sparking innate curiosity and the joy of learning.
Advancing gender and racial equality, we provide unprecedented access to a wide array of free after-school enrichment experiences. Interdisciplinary and project-based, our program offers exposure to STEM, the Arts and rigorous academics, challenging our students to demonstrate their intelligence.
Our curriculum fosters a growth mindset, emboldening all children, with their individual gifts and challenges, to view mistakes as essential to the
learning process and to recognize the importance of grit, determination and perseverance. The Better Learning Academy awakens the learner within by encouraging the freedom to discover and develop talents in a safe, inclusive space at no cost to families.
We are keenly aware of the gender and racial inequity in the STEM and Arts fields. The Better Learning Academy actively seeks to challenge this reality by providing an engaging curriculum to young students of color in historically under-resourced
communities. Our students deserve equal opportunities to work closely with dedicated STEM and Arts experts and teachers.
The weeklong offerings of the Better Learning Academy include Music, Band, Drama, Chorus, Dance, Set Design, Music engineering, Podcasting, Stop-Motion Videography, Digital Media & Cosplay, Interactive engineering (Coding & Robotics), Drones and Creative Writing and Publishing.
