Our next stage of development actually requires an estimated £595,000, much of which we hope we will be able to get from trusts and foundations in the form of grants.

Whilst this is never a guarantee, our commitment to the local community will help our cause.

We’d love as many people as possible to get involved in organising fundraising events or supporting the events we’ve already added to the diary (see page 12 and 13).

WHAT WE’RE RAISING MONEY FOR In a word, we’re securing the future of BLT. In more words, it’s building works! The lease has now been extended for the next 30 years, but we need to make improvements to the building to honour this extension.

We also want and need to improve the building - to make it more accessible, and to improve the overall experience for everyone.

Our current lift is very old and will probably need to be decommissioned much sooner than we’d like it to be - which makes this phase of the works even more important and urgent.

We face the possibility of not having a lift at all, which means that some of our patrons may not be able to attend the theatre until these vital works are done.

2. MAKE YOUR PLEDGE

Make your personal pledge to raise or donate an amount by December 2024.

Fill out your pledge on the back page and hand it in so that we can display your pledges - the amount is up to you!

3. COME UP WITH A PLAN

If you think you’d like to raise money - hold a coffee morning, bake sale, book club, craft morning, play reading or any other event, let us know and we’ll help you with how!

4. SAVE THE DATES

Pop the dates in your diary for all our upcoming events on pages 12 & 13 of this pack and make sure you come along! A great way to spend time with friends new and old.

5. VOLUNTEER

If you can also donate your time, we need you - whether that’s organising a fundraising event, helping out selling raffle tickets or sharing your expertise.

SINGLE GIFT DONATIONS Donating a single gift via our website is easy but we also accept other means of payment!

Scan the QR code or head to the website address below. This will take you through to our ticketing platform, where we can take single gift donations of any amount of your choosing.

At Bromley Little Theatre, we are committed to legal, open, honest and respectful fundraising. As we are run by volunteers, we have very limited overheads and apart from a limited fundraising marketing budget, your donations will go directly to the building project. Not only that, our finance team will invest your donations so that we earn as much interest as possible, thus making your gifts go even further.

GIVING A LITTLE IS A BIG DEAL

£85,000 sounds like a lot...

As they say in a well-known supermarket, every little helps! You don’t need to donate much to make a big difference.

If all our members managed to raise or donate £175 by the end of 2024, we’d get there - that’s only (just under) £15 a month for 12 months.

So we think that’s a good target to aim for, as we know some won’t be able to raise or donate this much, and some will be able to help us with more.

£15 a month doesn’t sound like so much now does it?

Our monthly lottery is only £2 per entry per month and you could win a share of over £270 every month!

If you already do the BLoTo, you don’t need to do anything - although we’d be delighted if you decided to amend your standing order to increase your chances of winning!

The more people sign up, the more money there is for the winners and our fundraising efforts! 50% of entry monies are returned as prizes. What’s not to love about this idea? Our latest prize winner won £136 with second and third prize of £81 and £54. So what are you waiting for? TAKE A SEAT! Buy a seat in the auditorium and have your name plaque on it.

I’d like to buy a seat!

You may have noticed that some of our theatre seats already have names on them - this helped us buy the new seating at the time (about 25 years ago we think).

We still have 47 seats available to buy. In return you’ll get a plaque on the underneath of the seat.

Our minimum suggested donation for this is £275.

YOUR FUNDRAISING EVENTS

We’ve made a start on some fundraising events for next year, but we’d really like you to get involved in organising some too!

Do you have any skills you could share to host a workshop, lessons or just a fun event? We’re thinking crafts, exercise, meditation, guided walks, quizzes, karaoke nights, open mic nights. Or a coffee morning, book club or bake sale?

If you want to use BLT, we’ll help you to find a date and an appropriate space in the busy BLT calendar. The auditorium has no dates left for 2024, but the bar and rehearsal room are much more flexible. Or you could organise something at your house - a cast and crew reunion or garden party?

HOW TO ORGANISE YOUR EVENT 1. Email blt.fundraising@bromleylittletheatre.org with your idea.

2. Together we’ll find a date and location and agree ticket pricing and numbers.

3. Together we’ll decide the best way of selling tickets this could be on our ticketing system, JustGiving or cash on the door.

4. The marketing team will help you promote your event to our supporters but do invite your own network too.
