What we do We provide a safe, neutral environment at our 2 contact centres, where children and their families can enjoy family time together. Both centres have a secure entrance, to ensure the safety of all visitors and staff.

Set-Up meeting This is with you, your social worker and a member of the team . You will get a written copy of the discussion in the form of an agreement for family time. This is reviewed regularly in line with how well contact is working for you and for your child.

Staff Our experienced contact supervisors are there to observe and record your family time. We share our observations with your child’s Social Worker so that they know how well the session has gone, how you play with your child, and how you respond to their needs. Our staff can also offer support and guidance to improve your family time should you need it.

What is expected when attending contact? *You must arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of contact* Children will be collected and returned to carers by the Supervisor and therefore at the end of each session you must remain in the room for 5-10 minutes to enable the carer to leave the site.

Lateness Policy You are required to inform the centre if you are going to be late. We will wait: 20 minutes if you contact the office 15 minutes if you do not contact the office . Any later and contact will be cancelled

Permissions Please refer to your individual agreement form for details on what is permitted during your family time with each of your children. This may vary if you have more than one child contact arrangement.

Missed contacts If you fail to attend a session, it will not be rearranged. All missed contacts will be reported to your child’s social worker. Failure to attend 3 consecutive sessions will lead to a suspension of your contact agreement. You will then be required to attend a review meeting between you, your child’s social worker and staff from the contact centre.

Please note: The following are not permitted within the building, smoking, alcohol, drugs and/or animals. Contact will not go ahead, or may be terminated, if you appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Both Children’s Contact Centres operate a zero-tolerance policy with regards to any verbal or physical abuse displayed towards staff and/or clients and includes any threatening behaviour or destruction of property. We reserve the right to terminate your contact and call the police if needed.

Feedback: We welcome feedback as this helps us shape our service so if you have a comment, suggestion or a concern please speak to a member of staff before or after your contact. just scan the QR code below!

Our team work hard to ensure a professional and courteous service, however should you have a complaint, please contact the Children’s Contact Centre Manager. CCCS@bromley.gov.uk
