2024 Final Property Tax Bill

The Township of Brock has issued the 2024 final property tax bills. The Township issues two property tax bills each year, with the first being the Interim property tax bill which are issued in January and reflect 50 per cent of your previous year’s taxes. The second bill reflects the final property taxes which are issued in June and reflect any budget changes approved by the Township, Region and Province The Township establishes a budget to provide municipal services and infrastructure. It calculates a municipal tax rate that will meet its funding needs The Region of Durham has a similar process, and the Province of Ontario creates an education tax rate. There are two components to property taxes: (i) Your property's Current Value Assessment (CVA) Which is determined by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC); and (ii) The total property tax rate. This is determined by the Township of Brock, the Region of Durham, and the Provincial Education portion (Calculation: Assessment x Tax Rate = Total Property Taxes)

Your residential property tax bill includes “levies” or charges that support the Township of Brock, the Region of Durham and your local school boards For the 2024 budget year, these levies are distributed as 37% to the Township of Brock, 52% to the Region of Durham and 11% to local school boards
