A sactuary of Greek serenity

In a country celebrated for its mythic beauty, ancient history, and luminous coastlines, luxury takes on a deeper meaning. Greece is not merely a destination; it is an emotion shaped by light, sea, and timeless landscapes. And nowhere is that feeling captured with more elegance and balance than at Amanzoe Hotel, a hilltop sanctuary on the Peloponnese peninsula that has become one of the most exclusive resorts in

the Mediterranean.

Perched above the sparkling Aegean, Amanzoe is more than a hotel. It is an architectural homage to the grace of classical Greece and the tranquility of contemporary design. From the moment guests arrive, they enter a world that feels both timeless and profoundly modern, where every stone and every view tells a story of harmony between man and nature

Creative Direction

A SETTING BEYOND COMPARE

Located near the coastal town of Porto Heli, Amanzoe occupies a hilltop surrounded by olive groves, overlooking the serene Argolic Gulf. The setting is deliberately remote, far from the bustle of Santorini or Mykonos, offering the kind of seclusion that sophisticated travelers crave. Yet it remains accessible, only a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Athens or a short helicopter transfer that lands directly at the property’s helipad.

From this privileged vantage point, guests enjoy panoramic views of the Aegean, the distant islands, and the rolling hills of the Peloponnese. The landscape evokes the essence of ancient Greece, untouched, sunlit, and spiritual. It is the kind of place where silence is not emptiness but music, and where time seems to slow to the rhythm of the wind and waves.

DESIGN INSPIRED BY CLASSICAL GREECE

Amanzoe’s design, conceived by architect Ed Tuttle, is one of the

defining elements that set it apart. It pays homage to the country’s architectural heritage without falling into imitation. The resort is built around colonnades, courtyards, and reflecting pools that echo the geometry of ancient temples, yet the lines are clean, the materials refined, and the overall mood contemporary.

Marble, limestone, and local stone dominate the spaces, creating a seamless blend between nature and architecture. Sunlight plays an essential role, filtering through columns and open corridors to create an ever-changing canvas of shadows and reflections. The design philosophy mirrors Aman’s global identity: understated, refined, and deeply connected to its surroundings.

The main pavilion serves as the heart of the property, offering sweeping views of the sea and the distant horizon. From there, paths lined with cypress and lavender lead to private pavilions and villas, each positioned for maximum privacy. Every

element is meticulously proportioned, every vista perfectly framed. Amanzoe is not ostentatious; it is quietly magnificent.

SUITES AND VILLAS OF ABSOLUTE PRIVACY

Each of Amanzoe’s pavilions and villas feels like a private sanctuary. The design emphasizes open space, natural light, and a direct connection to the landscape. High ceilings, neutral tones, and floor-to-ceiling windows allow the outdoors to flow effortlessly into the living areas. Every pavilion includes a private pool, a terrace with ocean views, and marble bathrooms that feel like small temples

of relaxation.

For guests seeking ultimate exclusivity, the resort’s private villas, ranging from one to nine bedrooms, are masterpieces of architecture and comfort. They come with their own chef, host, and infinity pool, ideal for extended stays, private gatherings, or those who prefer the privacy of a residence combined with the amenities of a world-class resort.

At Amanzoe, luxury is not measured in extravagance but in the absence of distraction. Every space is designed to calm the senses and restore balance. It is a retreat that invites contemplation, not performance.

THE BEACH CLUB AND THE AEGEAN EXPERIENCE

Although Amanzoe sits on a hill, guests have exclusive access to a private Beach Club located in a sheltered bay below the property. A short drive through olive groves leads to a pristine stretch of coastline, where cabanas, pools, and shaded terraces blend seamlessly with the natural setting.

The Beach Club embodies Aman’s philosophy of quiet luxury. It offers four pools, a restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine, and private cabanas that invite long, unhurried afternoons by the sea. The water is crystal clear, ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, or simply floating in silence while the Aegean glimmers in the sun.

For those who wish to explore, the hotel organizes yacht excursions to nearby islands such as Spetses and Hydra, both rich in history and charm. Sailing these calm waters at sunset, with the sky painted in soft pinks and golds, is one of the most memorable experiences Amanzoe offers.

A TEMPLE OF WELLNESS

Wellness at Amanzoe is a central part of the experience, not an afterthought.

The spa, inspired by classical Greek healing traditions, is a serene space where marble, water, and light converge. Treatments incorporate natural ingredients from the region, including olive oil, herbs, and sea salts, while combining modern techniques with ancient wisdom. Guests can also enjoy yoga sessions overlooking the hills, personalized fitness programs, and

holistic therapies designed to renew energy and balance. For many, the spa becomes the true heart of their stay, a place of stillness and restoration that perfectly mirrors the resort’s peaceful surroundings.

GASTRONOMY ROOTED IN AUTHENTICITY

Amanzoe’s dining philosophy celebrates Greek cuisine in its purest form. The ingredients are local, the presentation elegant, and the flavors deeply authentic. Olive oil comes from nearby groves, seafood is caught fresh from the Aegean, and vegetables are sourced from local farms.

The main restaurant offers refined Mediterranean dishes, while the poolside and beach club restaurants provide more casual yet equally sophisticated options. Each meal feels like a celebration of simplicity and

taste, elevated by impeccable service and breathtaking views.

Private dining experiences can be arranged in villas, gardens, or terraces overlooking the sea, allowing guests to enjoy intimate moments framed by the serenity of the Peloponnese.

THE AMAN PHILOSOPHY

Amanzoe perfectly embodies the philosophy that has made Aman one of the world’s most admired hospitality brands: a commitment to understated luxury, privacy, and a deep connection to place. Every Aman property is

unique, yet all share a sense of calm and timelessness. At Amanzoe, that philosophy meets the spirit of Greece, resulting in a destination that feels both mythic and modern.

Amanzoe Hotel is not only one of the top resorts in Greece; it is one of the finest in the world. It is where ancient inspiration meets contemporary serenity, where architecture honors nature, and where every moment feels crafted with intention. For travelers who value silence, beauty, and authenticity, Amanzoe is not just a destination. It is an awakening.

Jayson Seidman, CEO of The Columns

A NEW STEWARD FOR A TIMELESS LANDMARK

When The Columns changed hands in 2019, its new owner approached the storied property not as a developer, but as a guardian. Guided by a deep respect for its 140-year legacy, Jason Seidman saw his role as one of protection and preservation rather than reinvention. “While I may be an owner and an operator and the mind behind this chapter of The Columns, this hotel has been here a lot longer than I have or we have,” he says. “And for me, it’s always about being essentially a good steward.”

That sense of stewardship has shaped every decision Seidman has made, from maintaining the structure’s

original character to honoring the generations of memories made within its walls. He sees The Columns not only as an architectural gem, but as a living space filled with stories of weddings, first jobs, and unforgettable nights that connect New Orleanians and travelers alike.

As The Columns celebrates its renewed chapter, Seidman reflects on his dual mission to preserve the property’s soul and elevate its experience for a new generation. With its perfect blend of heritage, hospitality, and human touch, The Columns stands as both a testament to New Orleans’ resilience and to the business of emotion that Seidman has mastered.

WHERE HISTORY LIVES AND STORIES ENDURE

Originally constructed in 1883 as a private residence, The Columns has lived many lives, from family residence, to a boarding house, to a hotel. Its evolution mirrors the city’s own resilience. Today’s Columns stand as a layered testament to New Orleans’ architectural legacy, defined by transformation rather than stasis. Over the decades, storms and time have reshaped its silhouette. Once a Queen Anne Victorian designed by architect Thomas Sully, it later emerged in a striking Greek Revival style, grand, columned, and unmistakably Southern. The building’s current incarnation reflects those eras coexisting in harmony, a visual reminder that history is not something to be frozen in time, but to be carried forward.

PRESERVATION, NOT RESTORATION

Seidman’s approach to revitalizing The Columns is rooted in restraint. Rather than restoring the property to a single historical moment, his vision

embraces every layer of its past. “I like preservation, not restoration,” he explains. “I didn’t want to restore this building like it was still the 1880s. I wanted to preserve all of the eras in which it has existed.”

That philosophy guided a thoughtful transformation of the hotel, one focused on revealing beauty rather than adding more. Seidman describes

the process as an “exercise in subtraction.” By removing clutter, opening space, and allowing light and materials to breathe, The Columns regained its natural balance: grand but unpretentious, historic yet alive.

ARCHITECTURE AND MODERN AMENITIES

The Columns’ architecture continues to captivate visitors from the moment

they arrive. Its sweeping front gallery, lined with iconic Corinthian columns, remains one of the most photographed facades in New Orleans. Inside, the original woodwork, stained glass, and plaster details coexist with a subtle layer of modern refinement, one that enhances comfort without compromising authenticity.

From the 19 distinct guest rooms to the newly refreshed bar and garden terrace, every space is a dialogue between past and present. “Our goal

was to make the building feel like it’s breathing again,” says Seidman. “We wanted the old bones to shine, but with the conveniences and thoughtfulness guests expect today.”

Behind the elegance lies thoughtful design: discreet climate systems, restored flooring, updated fixtures, and artisanal craftsmanship that feels contemporary yet timeless. The result is a property that honors its 19thcentury grandeur while fully embracing 21st-century hospitality.

HIDDEN GEMS AND GATHERING SPACES

Beyond its iconic façade, The Columns’ true magic unfolds in its hidden corners: the marble-topped bar that hums with conversation, the back porch where the city’s pulse meets the rustle of the oak trees, and the garden terrace that bridges locals and travelers in equal measure. Here, guests don’t just visit; they participate in a living tradition of connection that defines New Orleans itself.

But beyond the architecture, The

Columns’ true gem is its famous porch, a gathering place that has shaped generations of New Orleans life. Rain or shine, locals and travelers alike sip cocktails, share stories, and watch the city drift by. The porch, Seidman says, is where The Columns truly comes alive: a space of laughter, reflection, and community that transcends time. “The Columns has always been about bringing people together,” says Seidman. “It’s a meeting place, not just for

New Orleans, but for people from everywhere who feel at home here.”

Walk through The Columns and you’ll find treasures at every turn, from hand-painted frescoes that frame the bar’s perimeter to the original chandeliers that have glowed there since its days as a private residence. “Probably the biggest elements that I’m most proud of are the light fixtures and the original chandeliers that are in

the bar,” Seidman says. “They’ve been there the entire time.”

THE ESSENCE OF HOME

Despite its grandeur, The Columns remains deeply personal and inviting. Guests are greeted not with the polish of a chain hotel, but with the warmth of a historic home. Every door, wall, and opening was preserved to maintain the house’s original flow and intimacy.

“The idea is that you feel like you’re living in a space that’s been living — that’s been around for a long time,” says Seidman. “You pick up on the smells of the mahogany, the beauty of the landscaping, the plants, the vegetation — it’s all meant to feel lush, warm, welcoming, and comfortable.”

That living, breathing quality makes The Columns more than a hotel; it’s an experience of New Orleans itself —

layered, fragrant, and full of history you can feel.

THE ART OF HOSPITALITY

At The Columns, beauty and design are only part of the equation. True luxury, Seidman believes, lies in warmth, service, and sensory experience. “It’s one thing to be very pretty and very designed, but if that’s all you’re doing, I don’t think you’re

“I’m all about preserving the soul, the energy and the stories The property has existed since 1883, and I just love hearing more and more from people around the world who have a connection to The Columns”
- Jayson Seidman, CEO of The Columns

doing your job,” he says. “It needs to complete the circle of good design meets awakening of your senses — sight, smell, taste, good service, good hospitality, warmth, be kind.”

This philosophy has earned The Columns continued acclaim, including back-to-back Michelin Keys in 2024 and 2025. Yet beyond the accolades, what defines the property is its ability to make guests feel at home — to exist in a space that honors history while celebrating the human connection at the heart of hospitality.

COMMUNITY, CONNECTION, AND CULTURE

For Seidman, preserving The Columns also means honoring its role as a cultural hub. “That’s usually our core focus,” he says. “Hotels that are less of a hotel and more of a place for the locals.” From the new Avenue Room Café, a daytime gathering spot designed with New Orleanians in mind — to collaborations with local boutiques like St. Claude Social Club, the property is designed to feel lived-

in and loved by its community.

Local artists, musicians, and makers find a home here too, continuing The Columns’ legacy as a space where art, history, and hospitality meet. “We work a lot with local artists, retail boutiques, and people that we feel are important,” Seidman explains. “But I also don’t want it to be hyper-local. I want it to feel storied, traveled. That’s the story of New Orleans.”

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE COLUMNS

Looking ahead, Seidman’s vision for The Columns is rooted in continuity rather than reinvention. “For us, it’s all about just continuing traditions and not trying to be anything more than a classic property that is reliable and comfortable for people,” he says.

Beyond its walls, the spirit of The Columns now extends into sister projects like Hotel Henrietta, named after the sister of Simon Hernsheim, who built The Columns in 1883, and Fives, a bar in the French Quarter inspired by Hernsheim’s tobacco

legacy. Together, these ventures form a network of properties connected by shared storytelling and a deep love for New Orleans.

For Seidman, this is more than business, it’s legacy. “It’s a family property, a legacy asset that will continue to give people an understanding of what I’m about,” he says. “It’s not too buttoned up, just the right amount of relaxed, a place where everyone feels in a lived space.”

Leading Nautical Exclusivity in Cozumel Deluxe Private Boats

In a tourist destination globally recognized for its crystal-clear waters and natural richness, Deluxe Private Boats has managed to stand out by offering something few can provide, private, personalized, and meaningful experiences. From Cozumel, Mexico, the company led by Adrián Kaye, Founder and General Director, has transformed the way national and international visitors discover the Caribbean Sea

Creative Direction

Interviewee

A BEGINNING INSPIRED BY INTIMACY

The story of Deluxe Private Boats began in a personal way. With his private boat, Adrián identified a gap in the industry; most tours in Cozumel were designed for large groups, which left out those seeking a more intimate environment. His initial proposal was clear, to create authentic moments between families and friends in a private setting.

That vision became the essence of the company and, over time, a growth engine that has allowed Adrián to lead a passionate team committed to excellence.

A CONSTANT EVOLUTION

Founded 13 years ago, the company has experienced remarkable growth, especially in the last four years. In addition to renewing its fleet, it recently incorporated a new 51-foot Leopard yacht, an acquisition that represents a fulfilled personal dream for Adrián. This new boat expands the company’s possibilities by offering longer tours, romantic dinners, greater

passenger capacity, and a higher level of luxury.

For Adrián, however, the boats are only the means, “Boats are essential, but the true experience is created by the people who are part of our team.”

A FLEET AT THE SERVICE OF EXPERIENCE

Today, Deluxe Private Boats has six vessels, all designed to offer luxury, comfort, and versatility.

Beyond adding boats, the company’s philosophy focuses on constantly updating its offerings and designing unique experiences that reflect the exclusive character of each yacht. Gourmet dinners, personalized excursions, and attention to detail reflected in every service are part of the proposal.

THE KEY, PERSONALIZED SERVICE

In a competitive tourist market, maintaining exclusivity is a challenge.

For Adrián and his team, the key has been communication and empathy. “Each person is unique and seeks to live special moments with their loved ones. The most important thing is to listen and surprise with small details that make a difference,” says Adrián. That ability to think like clients and act like entrepreneurs is what has kept Deluxe Private Boats the preferred choice for those seeking more than just a simple tour, a transformative experience at sea.

“Boats are essential, but the true experience is created by the people who are part of our team”
- Adrían Kaye, Founder & Managing Director

EXPERIENCES THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Among the most recent innovations is the “Romantic Dinner,” initially designed for couples but adaptable to family celebrations, birthdays, or even marriage proposals. The experience combines gourmet cuisine on board with the exclusivity of iconic destinations such as Playa El Cielo and Isla Pasión, places where the natural beauty of Cozumel merges with luxury and privacy.

A TEAM THAT CONNECTS WITH THE WORLD

At Deluxe Private Boats, hospitality goes beyond comfort on board. The ability to communicate in the client’s language has become a key pillar to strengthen the connection with

visitors from different nationalities. The team of captains and sailors receives constant English lessons, allowing them to share island stories, explain destination features, and convey information about marine life.

This closeness not only facilitates communication but also creates a warm and welcoming environment where clients feel truly valued and comfortable.

AUTHENTICITY IN THE FACE OF COMPETITION

With over a decade of experience, Deluxe Private Boats stands out as the first company to offer this type of exclusive service in Cozumel. Unlike competitors who have tried to replicate the model, the

company owns its own fleet and has a consolidated professional team, ensuring an unparalleled quality standard.

“They can copy what we do, but they will never be able to replicate our essence,” says Adrián Kaye, emphasizing that the true difference lies in the accumulated experience

and the constant commitment to surpass their own achievements.

LOOKING TOWARD THE FUTURE

Innovation is part of the brand’s DNA.

Although expansion to other regions is on Adrián’s radar, the priority is always to ensure impeccable service before thinking about growth. “It is preferable

to have one branch that works perfectly than to have several areas with mediocre performance,” he says.

The new 51-foot yacht opens the door to unprecedented experiences that will soon be revealed, maintaining the spirit of surprise and novelty that characterizes the company. Expansion plans, Adrián assures, will come at the right time and strategically.

A MESSAGE OF GRATITUDE

For Adrián Kaye, the greatest driving force of Deluxe Private Boats has been the trust of its clients. In these 13 years, the company has evolved

and strengthened its position thanks to those who have chosen to live private experiences in Cozumel with them. That support is, in Adrián’s words, the greatest commitment to continue innovating and creating unforgettable memories that transcend time.

With eyes set on the future and feet firmly grounded in the essence that saw them born, Deluxe Private Boats reaffirms its promise, to offer luxury with soul, experiences with purpose, and moments that will remain forever engraved in the memory of those who sail with them.

Facundo Mercado, Gerente General en La Urumpta Hotel & Spa, AKEN MIND

Creative Direction

Omar Rodríguez

In the city of Río Cuarto, Córdoba, stands a space that redefines the concept of hospitality in the region: La Urumpta Hotel & Spa, AKEN MIND. With a proposal that combines nature, sophistication, and wellbeing, this hotel has managed to establish itself as a luxury benchmark while imprinting its own signature in the industry. Its General Manager, Facundo Mercado, shares with Boston Business Review the key factors that have made La Urumpta a unique destination in Argentina.

THE ESSENCE OF A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

For Mercado, the hotel’s true differentiator lies in its people. “The warmth and professionalism of the AKENers team are fundamental; they are ambassadors of excellence,” he highlights. Added to this is an architecture designed in harmony with nature, where every detail seeks to preserve the original environment. The contact with native tree species and open spaces conveys the sensation of breathing pure air and reconnecting with the essential.

“Nuestro hotel desde su concepción se pensó en una estructura en comunión con la naturaleza, preservando cada especie arbórea”

- Facundo Mercado, Gerente General La Urumpta Hotel & Spa, AKEN MIND

Well-being is another key pillar. AKEN Spa & Wellness offers a complete relaxation circuit with water stations such as sensation showers, Finnish baths, and hydrojets in mini pools, along with heated and panoramic pools, both outdoors and indoors. All of this forms a proposal that Mercado describes as “the most disruptive and fascinating hotel in the region.”

RECOGNITIONS THAT ENDORSE EXCELLENCE

La Urumpta has been honored multiple times by the MyHotel platform, one of the most relevant in the Spanishspeaking world. These recognitions, based on guest surveys and the international NPS system, validate the high standards achieved in service and attention. “The impact is twofold: it

La Urumpta Hotel & Spa, AKEN MIND

confirms that satisfaction levels are consistent over time and motivates the team, who feel they are protagonists of each achievement,” explains the manager.

THE GUESTS’ PERSPECTIVE

The opinion of visitors is clear and consistent. According to the main OTA platforms, the most valued aspects are the staff’s attention, cleanliness,

the quality of breakfast and meals, the design of the facilities, and the spa services. These attributes reflect a strategy focused on the comprehensive experience, in which every detail is carefully attended to maintain high satisfaction rates.

GASTRONOMY AS IDENTITY

The culinary offering also plays a leading role within the hotel. Its

La Urumpta Hotel & Spa, AKEN MIND

restaurant has become a gastronomic icon of Río Cuarto, combining local and international flavors in a menu designed to captivate all five senses. “It’s not just a place for guests, but one of the most relevant alternatives in the region,” says Mercado.

THE BACKING OF AKEN HOTELS & RESORTS

The support of the AKEN Hotels & Resorts chain, part of the Miamibased management company AMEK Group, has strengthened La Urumpta’s international projection. The hotel benefits from solid strategic and operational backing that includes revenue management, realistic budget planning, work climate surveys, and performance evaluations. “The constant support allows us to optimize profitability, improve processes, and ensure that every team member is recognized for their contribution,” affirms the general manager.

LOCAL AUTONOMY WITH INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT

La Urumpta’s management combines the operational autonomy of a local business with the backing of an international chain. As Mercado explains, the relationship with AKEN Hotels & Resorts is built day by day through joint work with the management company AMEK Group. While daily operations are directly handled by the property, permanent coordination instances are established: weekly meetings with department directors and monthly presentations of results before the Board. This structure allows for maintaining independence without losing the strength of corporate support.

A FAMILY IMPRINT

The hotel is part of the business pool of the Donzelli Family, well-known entrepreneurs in Río Cuarto for their commitment to local investment and

job creation. La Urumpta reflects that family identity in its management, transmitting values of responsibility, commitment, and quality, enhanced by the professionalism of its human team. This combination gives it a close and authentic character that

complements the sophistication of its proposal

A MEETING POINT FOR DIVERSE AUDIENCES

The hotel’s strategic location, just minutes from downtown and the Río Cuarto airport, makes it a

La Urumpta Hotel & Spa, AKEN MIND

reference point for both tourists and corporate travelers. Although the business segment, particularly linked to the agricultural sector, is predominant, the hotel also attracts visitors seeking leisure getaways from different Argentine provinces and

even neighboring countries. With a wide range of services and wellness spaces, La Urumpta manages to serve both audiences in a balanced way, establishing itself as a versatile, high-category option.

“Quiero dejar una huella en cada acto y contacto con mis equipos, para contribuir a su crecimiento profesional y personal”

- Facundo Mercado, Gerente General La Urumpta Hotel & Spa, AKEN MIND

SUSTAINABILITY AS A ROADMAP

In recent years, La Urumpta has advanced with a Sustainability Master Plan aimed at reducing environmental impact and optimizing resources. Among the initiatives already implemented are the reduction of energy consumption, the decrease in paper use through recycling processes, and the classification of waste for reuse. These measures are part of a long-term commitment to

position the hotel as a benchmark for responsible hospitality in the region.

THE TRAJECTORY OF A LEADER

With more than 27 years in the industry, Facundo Mercado emphasizes that his career has been guided by a clear purpose: to ensure every guest leaves happy, satisfied, and eager to return. His career, which began in 1998, led him to hold various roles until consolidating himself as

La Urumpta Hotel & Spa, AKEN MIND

General Manager of La Urumpta, a position he has held for five years. “I feel grateful for all that this profession has given me, and I want to leave a mark in every act, gesture, and interaction with my teams, contributing to their professional and personal growth,” he says.

Argentina

A Dream Fulfilled

and a Destination That Always Invites You to Return

Córdoba

Since I was a child, I dreamed of walking the streets of Argentina, eating an authentic asado, and visiting the legendary Bombonera. I grew up watching Argentinean TV shows and being a fan of Diego Armando Maradona, which made this country always appear in my imagination as a place full of culture, passion, and unreal landscapes. For years, I carried that dream with me until it finally became a reality.

FROM CÓRDOBA TO RÍO CUARTO: THE TRUE BEGINNING

My arrival in the country was through Córdoba Capital Airport. Although I didn’t get to explore the city in depth this time, from there we began our journey to Río Cuarto, a city located a little over three hours away by car. The main reason for this trip was very special: to visit the city and meet my wife’s family, who, even though they

Río Cuarto welcomed us with its calm and close-knit rhythm. We walked through its squares, where families gather to talk while children run and play. Its parks, traditional cafés, and the hospitality of its people made us feel at home. But

what moved us most was seeing how Argentineanananan families always find a moment to get together, share a mate, and accompany it with pastries. That simple yet meaningful custom perfectly captures the importance Argentineans place on family unity.

During our stay, we stayed at Hotel La Urumpta by Aken Mind, a true benchmark of hospitality in the region. With modern design, spacious areas, didn’t know me in person, welcomed me with a warmth that made me feel part of them from the very first moment.

Alpa Corral

and impeccable service, the hotel offered much more than comfort: it was a place where we felt the essence of Cordoban hospitality.

ALPA CORRAL: THE MAGIC OF THE SIERRAS

From Río Cuarto, we traveled to Alpa Corral, a hidden paradise in the middle of the Cordoban mountains. There we were surrounded by crystal-clear rivers, mountains, and landscapes that

exude serenity. Alpa Corral is the kind of destination where time seems to stop: the singing of birds, the murmur of water, and the pure air create the perfect atmosphere to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with nature.

VILLA GENERAL BELGRANO: A CORNER OF EUROPE IN ARGENTINA

We then continued on to Villa General Belgrano, a picturesque town with a

Villa General Belgrano

strong German influence. Its alpine architecture, Central European gastronomy, and the warmth of its people make the experience unique. There we tried some of its typical dishes and enjoyed the tranquility of its streets in an environment that, at times, made us feel like we were in a European village, though with an Argentineananan touch.

BUENOS AIRES: PASSION TURNED CITY

The final destination was Buenos Aires, a city that impressed us with its intensity from the very first moment. It’s a capital that blends the modern with the historical, with grand avenues, architecturally rich buildings, and a nightlife that never seems to stop.

One of the most memorable moments was walking through the La Boca neighborhood, with its famous Caminito, where colors, tango, and street art create a unique atmosphere. But the most intense experience came

when we attended a soccer match at La Bombonera, the legendary Boca Juniors stadium. Being there, surrounded by fans singing nonstop, was indescribable. The vibration of the stands, the passion in every corner, and the connection with Diego Armando Maradona’s legacy made that visit unforgettable—a true dream fulfilled within the trip.

WHAT’S LEFT TO DISCOVER

This first trip to Argentina allowed us to discover places we’ll always remember, but it also left us wanting to keep exploring. We know that on our next visit, we’ll discover other spectacular destinations: Bariloche, in Patagonia, with its lakes and mountains, a perfect destination for ski lovers in winter and adventurers in summer.

The Iguazú Falls, in Misiones, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, where the power of water creates a majestic spectacle.

Salta and northwestern Argentina, with unique landscapes like Quebrada de Humahuaca, the richness of Andean culture, and the chance to experience historic landmarks like the Train to the Clouds.

Ushuaia, in Tierra del Fuego, the southernmost city in the world, surrounded by glaciers and mountains, and a departure point to Antarctica.

A COUNTRY THAT LEAVES ITS MARK

Argentina is a destination to be experienced with all five senses. In Río Cuarto, we discovered lively squares and the value of family unity; in Alpa Corral, the peace of the sierras; in Villa General Belgrano, cultural richness; and in Buenos Aires, the intensity of a city that breathes passion. Watching a match at La Bombonera was the

Puente Colgante Rio Cuarto

confirmation that Argentina isn’t just visited, it’s felt.

This trip, which began as a childhood dream, became a reality that exceeded my expectations. And although there are still many destinations to explore, I know that every return to Argentina will be a new opportunity to discover, feel, and be moved once again. Because this country isn’t just a place on the map, it’s an experience that leaves a mark on the heart.

And before concluding, I want to thank my new family: the Pericas sisters, my father-in-law Carlos

Pericas, my mother-in-law Mariela Gómez, and also Pablo Lucchesi, Agustín Luján, Gustavo Lescano, Antonella Arguello, grandma Zulma Barcia, aunt Norma Pericas, uncle Juanjo Pericas, Vale, and all the nephews and nieces, for all their kindness and the time shared during my stay in Río Cuarto.

We also want to dedicate this article to the memory of our little niece Emilia Pérez, an angel who left too soon, but whose memory will always remain in the hearts of all of us. (January 27, 2017 – September 19, 2024).
