9 to 5 The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic.

Pushed to the breaking point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy, and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy- giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains “otherwise engaged,” the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down.

Hey, a girl can scheme, can’t she?

Senior Bios

Katie Blackwell (Roz Keith) is honored to be part of an amazing show with such a stellar cast and crew! As a senior vocalist in the APEX Arts magnet program, music and storytelling is a big part of her life and she looks forward to continuing her passion at James Madison University as a Vocal Performance major. Katie would like to thank her family, friends, and teachers for inspiring her to believe in herself and helping her become the person she is today. She hopes you enjoy the show! A quick “Heart to Hart” if you’re her family… please close your eyes!

Cameron Blickenstaff (Josh Newstead / Ensemble) is very excited to be a part of 9 to 5: The Musical. You may have previously seen them in the Ensemble in last year’s production, Freaky Friday. Cam would like to thank their family, friends, and directors for all their support. They hope you enjoy the show!

Lexie Brinkley (Ensemble) is very excited to finish her senior year with 9 to 5 as her third and final production at Broadneck High School. Singing, dancing, playing the piano, and performing in musicals have been her passion. She has played ensemble roles in Newsies and Freaky Friday. Lexie is in the Apex Arts Vocal program and will continue studying music in the fall at Towson University as a Music Education and Music Therapy major. She is extremely grateful and would like to thank her incredibly supportive family and friends, as well as the amazing Directors, Cast, and Crew.

Senior Bios

Shay Butler (Ensemble) is an APEX Arts senior vocalist. She has been in three musicals, with this year’s production of 9 to 5 being her fourth and final show. Shay also previously played Max the dog in the musical, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, with the Pasadena Theatre Company. She displayed her animated energy in all of these past performances, including last year’s production of Freaky Friday, and continues to add life to the ensemble through various minor roles. Shay has been accepted into Towson University and plans to continue performing in more musicals in college.

Evelyn Crowley (Stage Manager) never thought she would join theatre, but it definitely played a big part in her time at high school. 9 to 5 will be her 8th show and she is very sad about leaving such a wonderful community behind. On top of managing the tech crew for Broadneck, she likes cooking and writing songs in her free time. She plans on attending AACC to get her associate degree in Culinary Arts and Baking. Evelyn is excited for the many shows Broadneck has to offer in the future and will continue to support the theatre program.

Magen Evers (Ensemble) is ecstatic to be performing in such a lively show! She has been a part of the tech crew for Broadneck’s musicals since she was a sophomore, but this is her debut in a musical! Magen has also been an actor in several Broadneck plays. She will be continuing her love for the arts in college! Although she hasn’t committed to a university yet, she is leaning towards schools in either Philadelphia or New York. Magen would like to dedicate this to her sister, Maya, who is stationed in Hawaii for Americorp and isn’t able to be here, as well as her grandpa, Aloys, who recently passed and would’ve loved to see her in 9 to 5. Lastly, she would also like to thank Kevin Whewell for always supporting her even when she is not performing in his shows.

Senior Bios

Emerson Golladay (Backstage Crew) was in his first performance for Broadneck as an extra in The Play That Goes Wrong his senior year. Now he’s helping out backstage for the musical! Emerson has felt so welcomed by everyone in the cast and crew, and is very thankful to have been part of such a wonderful community! He will be pursuing other dramatics past high school.

Soph Keenan (Sound) is a sound tech who has worked on multiple shows over the course of their junior and senior year. Despite working on multiple Broadneck plays, this is their first Broadneck musical. They’ve had so much fun meeting and working with everyone! Soph does not plan on doing Theatre after graduation, but is so grateful for the experience!

Kay Latt (Mics Manager) first started out in theatre for her college resume and for the food. She never expected to be head of mics and building a community with the people around her. At first, she was reluctant coming to tech week, but now she loves working with her team and seeing them grow. Leaving is going to be the hardest thing for her but she knows that theatre is going to be left in good hands.

Grant Leichtman (Dwayne) is very excited for this show as it is his first. He has always included himself in anything and everything singing, such as choir and acapella. Grant would also like to thank all of the stage managers and parents who helped with the show because we wouldn’t have this show without them.

Senior Bios

Ryan Stanley (Mics Manager) started theatre in his sophomore year on the backstage crew with Newsies. Since then, he has joined and become co-head of the mics crew. He’s loved being a part of every show and wants to thank all of his friends in theatre for the experience.

Sarah Swain (Doralee Rhodes) is a Vocal Prime student in the APEX Arts Magnet program, and is overjoyed to be a part of 9 to 5 at Broadneck High School. She recently worked with the Pasadena Theatre Company portraying Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and is looking forward to the upcoming production of Charlotte’s Web in June. Sarah is headed to the University of Maryland in the fall, where she will double-major in Music Education and Vocal Performance. She would like to thank her teachers, directors, castmates, and family for always supporting her passions.

Calling all Bruins!
