On March 13, the Purcellville Town Council voted to appoint David A. Mekarski as its new Town Manager. Mekarski is the eighth individual to serve in the position since 1975, and replaces Interim Town Manager John Anzivino, appointed by the Council in December for a period of a little more than three months. Mekarski, a member of the International City/County Management Association and an individual certified by the American Planning Association, was one of 29 candidates applying for the position, and one of three finalists meeting all selection criteria.
