Educational Support Fee Structure 2019-2020 (For additional and specialist provision)
Programmes and Charges The programmes outlined below carry a supplementary charge in addition to the core tuition fees. All charges shown are annual.
English as an Additional Language (EAL) Specialist additional and different support for pupils entering the Junior School or Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9) in the Senior School with little or no English. Five Hour EAL programme in the Junior School. Taught in a small group, pupils are withdrawn from class for five hours each week. Available from Year 1 – Year 6. o Two Hour EAL programme in the Junior School. Taught in a small group, pupils are withdrawn from class for two hours each week. Available from Year 1 – Year 6. o Two hour EAL programme in KS3 or Year 12. Taught in a small group, pupils are withdrawn from certain classes for two hours per week. Once students progress sufficiently, access to the mainstream curriculum is expected. As soon as applicable, EAL support is reduced and in many cases discontinued. 83% of Junior School EAL students in 2017-2018 dropped or reduced their support by the end of the year. In the Senior School this figure was even greater at 87.5%. o
Learning Support – Specialist provision available in both the Senior and the Junior School. Charges shown are annual, based on one hour per week. For students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in either the Senior or the Junior School or for students in the Senior or the Junior School with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) o o
One-to-One tuition weekly with a Learning Support teacher. Please note that more than one hour per week may be required. In-class support with a Teaching Assistant. Please note that more than one hour per week may be required.
All-Inclusive EAL and Learning Support Programmes The EAL and Learning Support programmes outlined below are charged as an annual all-inclusive fee which includes the core tuition fees. o o
Intensive English. Available for Senior School students with little or no English in Key Stage 3. Specialist Plus Provision (previously known as Level 4). Available for students requiring significant support from Learning Support staff and Teaching Assistants. (Junior and Senior School). Means of Payment Payment of Fees Fees must be paid by bank transfer, direct debit or by cheque on receipt of the invoice. Payments should be made out to 'The British School of Paris' and sent to the Administrative Office located on the Senior School campus. Full fees are payable upon receipt of the invoice or one third of the fees can be paid at the beginning of each term. Subject to agreement from the Director of Finance, fees can alternatively be paid by ten installments from September to June. Any bank charges must be borne by the payer. If fees are not paid by the required date, the School reserves the right to charge interest, to request the withdrawal of a student or to withdraw tuition. Departure One half term’s notice in writing, addressed to the Registrar, is required when withdrawing pupils to avoid one term’s fees in lieu. For parents leaving during the course of the year, reimbursement of school fees is as follows: • Until Christmas: one term invoiced • Until Spring break: two terms invoiced • After this: no repayment Cheques All cheques are made payable to The British School of Paris and should be addressed to: The Director of Finance The British School of Paris 38 quai de l’Ecluse 78290 Croissy-sur-Seine Bank Transfer A bank transfer can be sent directly to the School’s bank, please see details below. Please instruct your bank to include as much information as possible, to enable us to identify your payment (i.e. family name, pupil’s name, invoice number). Please ensure that the total amount of the transfer includes any bank charges levied, as these are to be borne by the payer. Direct Debit Requests for direct debit should be addressed to the Finance and Administration Office at the Senior School. Upon receipt of the form “Demande de prélèvement” please return it with a RIB (relevé d’identité bancaire) Please note that direct debits from outside France are not possible. Parents are responsible for payment of the total sum due, regardless of any subsidies provided by their employer
