Academic Year 2025 - 2026

2

Dear Parents‚

We are excited to introduce the British School of Bucharest’s Term 2 2025–2026 Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs). We have provided a description, along with the aims and skills that students will develop in each CCA. We expect all students from Year 3 upwards to attend at least one CCA per week in Term 2.

We are pleased to continue offering morning CCAs for sport and have invited Year 6 students to join some of these sessions. Students attending morning CCAs must change into full school uniform after the session unless they have PE lessons on the same day. Morning CCAs will begin at 07:45. Students are permitted to arrive slightly later if they are affected by traffic or travelling by school bus.

The CCAs are scheduled to run from 19 th January to 27th March 2026, with the exception of the following dates:

• 16th –20 th February – School holiday

• 23rd February – School closed

Please note that the CCA enrolment process will take place exclusively through SchoolsBuddy during the specified period. The following page includes further information about the allocation process.

SchoolsBuddy Signup:

Opening: Friday, 5th December at 10:00

Closing: Tuesday, 9 th December at 17:00

If you require additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office via email at office@britishschool.ro.

Kind regards,

How CCA allocation works

It is important to note that the CCA enrolment process will be conducted through our SchoolsBuddy platform, employing a method that combines randomness with your preferences.

This method enables you to select up to five preferences per day. You can access the signup platform on My School Portal, located under the Activities section.

When the system allocates pupils, it will first consider your P1 (Preference 1) choices, followed by your P2 (Preference 2) choices and so forth. Please make sure you add up to five preferences per day to increase your chances of receiving an activity.

All activity assignments will be finalised at the conclusion of the process when the portal closes. Firstly, you will receive an email informing you of the options you selected for your child(ren).

Subsequently, you will receive an email notification once the signup session ends, informing you of the activities your child has been allocated to and those not allocated.

Your child(ren) is registered for those activities that have been ‘allocated’. The 'not allocated activities' are mentioned only as informative proof of your options. Additionally, payment for all paid activities will be processed after the registration period concludes and you will receive an email notification regarding this matter.

Upon allocation, it is imperative that payment for any paid activities be completed within 24 hours. Failure to do so may result in the loss of the allocated place, which will then be offered to students on the waiting list.

To sign up, please refer to the following guidelines and information:

• Once you've registered for a paid CCA, changes and refunds can only be made before the CCAs commence. For non-paid CCAs, withdrawal can be requested by providing written notification to the Office after classes have started.

• Students are expected to attend CCAs every week. In the event of an absence, please contact the School Office, as they coordinate absent students centrally.

• Pre-registered students for non-paid CCAs will be automatically included on the respective lists and parents will receive an invitation letter.

• If students have been pre-registered for an 'invite-only' CCA and parents have approved this pre-registration, they should refrain from selecting another activity that conflicts with the scheduled time.
