CCA Options Booklet
Academic Year 2024 - 2025

TERM 2
Academic Year 2024 - 2025
TERM 2
Welcome to Term 2’s offering of Co-Curricular Activities at BSB. Term 2 for Year 11 focuses primarily on GCSE support and revision classes for their upcoming exams. The CCA team has worked hard to minimise clashes for Year 11 students so they should be able to access each GCSE subject they study. We have also increased the provision of music and drama in Primary, allowing more students to ignite a passion for the Performing Arts. In addition, we are introducing morning CCAs for Year 6. Students are permitted to join the CCA at 07:45. They should come dressed in PE kit and will be given 5 minutes at the end to change into full school uniform before heading to their classrooms. If your child arrives by bus and reaches school later than 07:45, they are still able to join.
The CCAs are scheduled to run from 20th January 2025 until 11th April 2025, with the exception of the following dates:
24th January – Public Holiday
24th–28th February – Half-Term Holiday
Please be aware that the CCA enrolment process will take place exclusively through SchoolsBuddy during the specified period. The following page includes further information about the allocation process.
SchoolsBuddy Signup:
Opening: Thursday, 28th November at 10:00
Closing: Tuesday, 3rd December at 17:00
If you require additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office via email at office@britishschool.ro.
Kind regards,
Mr. Notley
Director of Co-Curricular, Development and Community Outreach
It is important to note that the CCA enrolment process will be conducted through our SchoolsBuddy platform, employing a method that combines randomness with your preferences.
This method enables you to select up to five preferences per day. You can access the signup platform on My School Portal, located under the Activities section.
When the system allocates pupils, it will first consider your P1 (Preference 1) choices, followed by your P2 (Preference 2) choices, and so forth. Please make sure you add up to five preferences per day to increase your chances of receiving an activity.
All activity assignments will be finalised at the conclusion of the process when the portal closes. Firstly, you will receive an email informing you of the options you selected for your child(ren).
Subsequently, you will receive an email notification once the signup session ends, informing you of the activities your child has been allocated to and those not allocated.
Your child(ren) is registered for those activities that have been ‘allocated’. The 'not allocated activities' are mentioned only as informative proof of your options. Additionally, payment for all paid activities will be processed after the registration period concludes, and you will receive an email notification regarding this matter.
Upon allocation, it is imperative that payment for any paid activities be completed within 24 hours. Failure to do so may result in the loss of the allocated place, which will then be offered to students on the waiting list.
To sign up, please refer to the following guidelines and information:
• Once you've registered for a paid CCA, changes and refunds can only be made before the CCAs commence. For non-paid CCAs, withdrawal can be requested by providing written notification to the Office after classes have started.
• Students are expected to attend CCAs every week. In the event of an absence, please contact the School Office, as they coordinate absent students centrally.
• Pre-registered students for non-paid CCAs will be automatically included on the respective lists, and parents will receive an invitation letter.
• If students have been pre-registered for an 'invite-only' CCA, and parents have approved this pre-registration, they should refrain from selecting another activity that conflicts with the scheduled time.
