LinkedIn Campaign Promoting Benefits of Plastics in Packaging
In 2021, the BPF used its digital voice and gained maximum traction, as it continued to get facts into the public domain and clarify the value that the industry provides. Website traffic to www.bpf.co.uk increased by over a third (36.3%) in the last 12 months, surpassing 1.7m unique page views. The BPF website remained the largest advertising space for the plastics industry to help promote our members’ products and services. The BPF published 181 press releases onto its website combining news from the BPF and its member firms. Social media proved a vital forum for the plastics industry yet again, as we reached a milestone of 24,000 followers across both LinkedIn and Twitter (12,000 per platform by December 2021). In terms of ‘impressions’ (when a post has been viewed by a person) we achieved 450,000 in the last 12 months (on Twitter) and 497,336 (on LinkedIn), with a combined total of 950,000. YouTube was another platform we relied heavily on in 2021. The BPF produced and released seven corporate videos onto BPF Media (the BPF’s YouTube channel) with 26,812 views overall. Also, when combined with webinar and seminar videos we uploaded, they collectively garnered 33,639 views in the last 12 months. Touching upon webinars, the marketing team produced and presented over 52 last year, with an attendance total of 2,307. Finally, in 2021 the ‘British Plastics Federation’ was featured in more than 1000 (1,059) newspaper and magazine articles both in the UK and around the world.
