In the latest issue of Britain in Hong Kong, “EMPLOYEE WELLNESS”, we hear from Chamber Members who share their insights on this topic. The World Health Organisation (“WHO”) defines health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of infirmity”. However, in Hong Kong and globally, mental health and wellbeing remains significantly misunderstood and not properly equated, either in prevention or treatment, to physical illness. Mental health issues can arise from a wide variety of individual and combined factors, including workplace stress and an unhealthy working culture.
This issue also includes a letter from the Chamber Chairman who provides an overview on what the Chamber has been up to over the past couple of months including our COP26 awareness campaign in partnership with DIT, our policy matching exercise, and an introduction to our new General Committee.
