A second term. There are very few positives
in conflicts in the 20th Century.
So what does this year hold? I hope a great deal, although there is caution around what is to come.
I am delighted that this ceremony has grown to encompass hockey club members and Society members in recent years.
associated with the pandemic but one for me was being invited to continue as OBs’ President for a second term.
There are plans for dinners, and other social events which I hope to be able to attend. The Old Bristolians sports teams are full steam ahead with cricket having had a reasonably normal summer and hockey and cricket back to normal fixtures over the coming weeks. Mike Burmester is planning more Luncheon Club events that hopefully will be in person. The sports club is something close to my heart. It is somewhere I hope all OBs are familiar with and alongside the luncheon club being hosted there, I hope I can extend an invitation for the wider OBs’ community to visit.
In my tenure as Rugby Club President I have ensured that a Remembrance service has taken place so that the Mini & Junior rugby players understand the significance of the memorial.
Personal sacrifice is something we have witnessed again from many people who have put themselves on the frontline in the last two years.

Therefore I feel that remembrance will hold a wider significance both this year and in years to come. This year’s service will take place on 14th November and I would extend a welcome to you all to attend
