OB News OB News When I started out in IT, in 1993, I knew there was no such thing as a ‘job for life’ anymore.
However, 13 years ago I joined insurance company Unum Group (US Fortune 500 company) as the UK IT Infrastructure Manager, a position I enjoyed for six and half years. An internal re-organisation gave me the opportunity to become a Senior Infrastructure Architect, which kept me busy for almost seven years with projects in the UK, US and Poland.

This year another re-organisation has provided me with the longawaited chance to move into a full-time security role, taking on the mantle of ‘Senior UK IT Security and Risk Manager’. I have a small team of highly skilled professionals with the responsibility for Information Security and Cyber Security in the UK. So, I feel extremely lucky to be embarking on my third job within the same great company. Each change in role has felt like a ‘new job’, but within familiar surroundings and with familiar faces.
