The three boaters in the photograph carry a band with BGS clearly indicated at the front. Both boaters and a hat box are in our collection as a result of kind donations from OBs.

taking a closer look at some of the earliest photos we have. The School moved to Tyndall’s Park, its current site, in 1879 and the image shows a group of students from that era. The students look young enough to be in the Preparatory School which was in operation at this time.

We are always keen to accept donations of ephemera, photographs, documents, books and artefacts relating to BGS

It is interesting to note that some of the boys are wearing school caps and some are wearing straw boaters.
