of some of our OBs on the International stage over the last couple of years. Yolanda Quartey has had a stellar couple of years in the USA, last year she was nominated for 4 Grammy Awards and her music is highly regarded.
Yolanda, now known as Yola, has just released a new album to much critical acclaim, “Stand for Myself” is described as “ a timeless masterpiece making an idiosyncratic sonic shift, which will defy all expectation. A sophisticated and diverse mix of symphonic soul and classic pop, tracing an expansive musical thread to Yola’s most eclectic musical inspirations.”

The Wandering Hearts have also just released their new album, “On Our Way”. OB Alex Dean-Revington is a member of this band who continue to grow in popularity, playing what is described as “Folk-Americana”. Last year’s UK tour had to be cancelled but fingers crossed they will be touring this year and I am looking forward to seeing them in London at the end of August. Their first album “Wild Silence” won the Bob Harris Emerging Artist Award in 2018 at the UK Americana Awards.
“Stand for Myself” is currently No.1 in the UK Americans charts.
In the Singles Chart sandwiched between many years and she also guested as a singer in Massive Attack. Before that she appeared in Holman’s House Concerts when she was at School.
Ed Sheeran and Fleetwood Mac are the Wandering Hearts and their new release “Cooking Vinyl”.
