CRIME STATS Over the past two weeks, there have been 339 reported crimes. Theft is on the increase over the last two weeks with 112 offences. Burglary, robbery, and public order offences have all declined throughout this period, in comparison to drug offences which have doubled (10).
The police would also like to remind everyone to ensure all personal items are left out of sight and as we approach the festive season, to keep all Christmas shopping secure within your vehicle/person.
WOMAN ATTACKED WITH FIREWORK – POLICE APPEAL On Friday 21 October at approximately 8:45pm a young woman in her twenties was needlessly injured by a firework that was recklessly thrown towards her at a bus stop at Broad Weir in Bristol city centre. The frightening incident resulted in the victim subsequently seeking medical attention at the hospital where she was treated for hearing loss. It is believed that two males were involved and were seen running away after the incident. CCTV has been reviewed from the surrounding area

Throwing a firework in a public place is extremely dangerous and can result in significant injuries or damage. It remains illegal to sell fireworks to under 18s and they can only be used on private property or alternatively by licensed professionals in a public place.
