FREE THINGS ON THE GOLD COAST COAST

FREE THINGS TO DO ON THE GOLD COAST • Check out the views from Elephant Rock at Currumbin

and then cool off in the ocean below.

• Enjoy the free O’Reilly’s Tree Top Walk or, for older

kids, head to Morans Falls along the 4.6km return track (the waterfalls at the end are a worthy reward!).

• Take in the view at the Best of All Lookout at

Springbrook. For the best views, visit on a clear, crisp day (even better, after a couple of days of rain).

• Experience the daily lorikeet feeding at Currumbin

Wildlife Sanctuary (gold coin donation). You can take part in this activity without entering the park; every day at 8am and 4pm.

• Introduce the kids to Pirate Park at Palm Beach,

a unique, themed playground featuring a pirate ship and other nautical-themed play features.

Oceanview Walk, Burleigh Head National Park

• Walk around Burleigh Hill at sunrise. Or walk around

at sunset and you might be one of the lucky few to spot some fireflies!

• Take the kids land fishing at Currumbin Creek or The

Spit. You can also fish from the sand pumping jetty, but check first that it is open and get there early to secure your spot.

• Hike to the Natural Bridge and the glow worm cave

(it is an easy 1km circuit). Remember to wear hats, sunscreen and insect repellent. The glow worms are only visible at night.

• Spend a day at the Gold Coast Regional Botanical

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

Gardens. Register in advance for a guided walk to learn about native bees or birds.

• Take the kids for a play at Kurrawa All Abilities

Playground, one of the biggest and best playgrounds on the Gold Coast for children.
