Moving on to the bishops. The bishops are placed next to the knights, towards the center of the board. The bishop moves diagonally in any direction it wishes and as far as it wishes as long as the squares are free.

Now, let's address the queen. The queen is placed on the remaining square of her color. This means the white queen starts on the light square, and the black queen on the dark square. The queen can be moved any number of unoccupied squares in a straight line vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.

For the king, he is placed next to the queen on the remaining square. This completes the setup of the back row. A king can move one square horizontally, vertically, and diagonally unless the square is already occupied by a friendly piece or the move would place the king in check.
