HELLO, My name is Brigitte I bring a dedicated approach to interior design, where my passion for art & design took root at a young age. I found myself immersed in the world of design - cutting out floor plans from newspapers, and meticulously redrawing them. I was inspired by colour schemes and captivated by the beauty of the world around me; This passion has become an intrinsic part of who I am, influencing my thoughts and every breath.

My identity as a designer is grounded in qualities such as creativity, intuition, and unwavering diligence. I draw inspiration from a myriad of sources—be it nature, art, architecture, or everyday life. This constant search for inspiration allows me to infuse fresh and innovative ideas into my designs, ensuring a dynamic and engaging approach to each project.

My design philosophy revolves around the creation of spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also sophisticated, thought-provoking, and profoundly purposeful. I share the common appreciation for simplicity, harmony, and functionality that unites all designers. However, I am also drawn to the allure of the ‘imperfect’ qualities in design, those elements that leave a lasting impression and evoke powerful emotions to those who encounters them.

POPPY LISSIMAN Step into the enchanting world of Poppy Lissiman at Westfield Carousel, where the artistry of design converges with the spirit of contemporary fashion. This flagship store is a testament to curated sophistication, embracing a harmonious fusion of architectural elements, opulent materials, and a thoughtful layout that invites patrons into an immersive brand experience.

At the heart of the store, the focal point is the elegantly curved vaulted ceiling, a structural masterpiece that gracefully arches overhead. The lime-washed plastered walls and ceiling serve as a canvas, imparting a soft and luminous quality to the space, while herringbone oak floors underfoot add a touch of timeless elegance.

Luxury finds expression in the diverse materials employed throughout. Different coloured marbles and polished aluminium/mirrored surfaces interplay to create a visual symphony, providing a neutral backdrop that magnifies the vibrancy of Poppy Lissiman’s accessory collections. A biodegradable olive-green resin display emerges as a conscious design choice, infusing a contemporary and sustainable ethos into the aesthetic narrative.

Poppy Lissiman at Westfield Carousel transcends the conventional retail experience, embodying a sophisticated narrative that celebrates not just fashion, but the timeless allure of design in every detail.

DESERT ELEGANCE A CONTEMPORARY MID-CENTURY ESCAPE The timeless allure of mid-century design gracefully converges with contemporary sophistication, creating a haven of refined tranquility. This master bedroom and ensuite encapsulate the essence of desert living through a carefully curated blend of organic shapes, warm hues, and subtle luxury.

The focal point of the master bedroom is the arch-shaped wicker bead head, an homage to mid-century design elements, infusing the space with a sense of understated glamour. Underfoot, a clay-coloUred carpet anchors the room, providing a plush foundation that echoes the tones of the desert landscape. Soft, neutral lime wash walls envelop the space, creating a canvas for the interplay of light and shadow, further accentuating the organic forms that grace the room.

In the ensuite, a harmonious marriage of mid-century and contemporary influences is manifested through square mosaic tiles that add a touch of geometric elegance to the space. The clay-coloured palette seamlessly transitions from the bedroom into the bathroom, fostering a sense of continuity and serenity. Warm and soft lighting emanates from round pendants, casting a gentle glow that accentuates the natural textures and shapes, elevating the overall ambiance.

‘Desert Elegance’ is a testament to the beauty that emerges when timeless design principles meet contemporary sensibilities. It is a sanctuary where sophistication resides in every carefully chosen detail, inviting you to experience the artistry of a desert-inspired escape.

NTS THE VISION In conceptualising this project, I embraced a rare opportunity that granted me absolute freedom in shaping the interior design. I saw it as a canvas for bringing my vision to life.

Blending organic shapes, warm earthy tones, and a harmonious interplay of natural, soft, and textural materials to instil depth and character into the design.

THE ‘URBAN STYLE’ BATHROOM A SEAMLESS FUSION OF CONTEMPORARY, MODERN, AND INDUSTRIAL DESIGN Culminating in a distinctive aesthetic that exudes a resort-like ambiance, tailor-made for inner-city living.

This thoughtfully curated space unfolds within the embrace of concrete, both in form and finish. The micro-cement-clad walls and concrete-look tiles from Crosby Tiles establish an urban canvas, echoing the raw, industrial charm that defines modern cityscapes. The bath, double shower, and uniquely shaped double vanity, resembling concrete cylinders, stand as sculptural elements, contributing to the bathroom’s avant-garde allure.

The use of Notaio Walnut joinery by Polytec introduces warmth and depth to the space, offering a rich counterpoint to the industrial materials. Exposed copper piping emerges as a striking feature, artfully blending utilitarian functionality with an aesthetic that nods to urban chic.

The verdant touch of nature is elegantly integrated through the addition of a terrarium flanking either side of the shower, adorned with large-leafed plants. This botanical element not only introduces a refreshing contrast but also underscores the ‘Urban Style’ bathroom’s unique character, evoking a serene oasis within the bustling urban landscape.

In every detail, from the choice of materials to the juxtaposition of elements, the ‘Urban Style’ bathroom embodies a refined approach to design. It redefines urban living by harmonising contemporary luxury, industrial edge, and modern comfort, delivering a sophisticated retreat where city living meets timeless elegance.

CEPA “KE-PAH”

A SERENE OASIS OF HEALING AND CONNECTION WITH NATURE Cepa is an architectural folly designed as a serene oasis for healing, relaxation, and connection with nature. Its whimsical structure consists of three organic shapes that gracefully reveal enchanting pathways and a deeper connection with oneself and the natural world. Situated on a curved bridge above a picturesque pond, Cepa offers a sanctuary where visitors can escape, rejuvenate, and find solace.

Nature plays a vital role, with lush greenery and a serene pond enhancing the healing atmosphere. The curved bridge connects visitors with the natural environment, inviting them to immerse themselves in its beauty.

Cepa is a sanctuary that offers respite from everyday life, inspiring holistic well-being and personal growth. By blending relaxation, artistic healing, and connection with nature, it invites individuals to embrace healing and forge a deeper connection with themselves and the natural world.

THE VISION To create three organic shapes that appear as “floating” on water.

Lantern-like structures boast petal-like layers, to offer a playful and interactive experience.

Positioned on a bridge over a pond in the park, the structures will harmonise with the natural surroundings, creating a serene and enchanting ambiance.

The bridge setting not only provides a platform for interaction but also enhances the experience with reflections on the tranquil water below.

The lantern shapes, combined with interactive rotation, contribute to a whimsical and elegant design that captivates park visitors.

THE MECHANICS The architectural folly is designed with a captivating interactive feature where each layer or “petal” is fixed on circular tracks. This deliberate arrangement allows visitors to manually rotate the petal-like layers, introducing an element of playfulness and engagement.

Visitors are invited to interact with the architectural installation by physically turning the petal layers on their circular tracks. This manual rotation empowers individuals to participate actively in shaping their experience, fostering a sense of connection and ownership of the whimsical display.

The intentional use of circular tracks ensures a smooth and controlled rotation of the petal layers. This precision adds an element of kinetic elegance to the interactive experience, creating a visual spectacle as the layers gracefully move within their circular confines.
