The Golden Ticket In June the Murray Theatre was magically transformed into Charlie Bucket’s house and the Wonka Chocolate Factory as we welcomed audiences to the marvellous and fantastical world of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Sixty-four incredibly enthusiastic and talented Year 11 students presented for auditions for this production in February, creating the largest cast we have ever had for a Year 11 Play at Brigidine! The production allowed us to tap into the extraordinary talents of our Year 11s – whether it be acting, singing, working behind the scenes helping backstage, with costumes or makeup, creating choreography or composing original music specially for the production. It gave many students the opportunity to perform on a stage for the very first time and I hope it left them with a lifetime love of the stage, and of course, chocolate!

Sincere thanks go to Mr Gareth Edey, who created the video projections and incredible lighting designs for the show, and Mr Chris Rutherford, who designed the promotional poster and supported the technical rehearsals with detailed feedback on each of our performers. A huge congratulations to our amazing cast and crew. A sold-out season ensured that so many of our College community were able to witness the joy and colour of our talented Year 11 students.
