CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE

Life’s most persistent question is... “What are you doing for others?” (MARTIN LUTHER KING)

Helping people in need is one of the most important values and acts that one can undertake. Our Charity Lunch in Western Sydney is a very tangible expression of giving and helping people in need.

Your sacrifice will give people and families hope... a real hope for their future and show them in a true sense that people care.

Let us open our hearts and give….even though it may not be the right or most suitable time to do so! On behalf of those we serve, THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

I would like to extend to our Committee, a truly wonderful group of individuals, my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the magnificent work that each of you do that makes the Charity Lunch so special. Your sharing of resources and knowledge reinforces the message of Martin Luther King so aptly... “What are you doing for others?” (Martin Luther King).

TESTIMONIALS

It’s an absolute honour to be the MC at the Western Sydney Corporate Business Lunch that provided much needed funds for the Salvation Army to continue their great work in Sydney’s West. What a fantastic example of the Community at work showcasing their support and encouragement in helping others. –

“ Since 1955 the Workers Lifestyle Group (formerly the Blacktown Workers Club Group) have remained a member focused and community based organisation. The opportunity to be a partner for this event gives us another avenue to demonstrate our commitment to those in our community who deserve a hand up and for our staff and volunteers to lean in when it counts the most. We are proud to be part of this journey again. –

“ The luncheon in support of The Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal for Western Sydney was inspirational with great speakers, thought provoking stories of changed lives, great food. Great fellowship. A great opportunity to connect with so many key Business personnel from Western Sydney. – JAMES CONDON, EX-COMMISSIONER, SALVATION ARMY AUSTRALIA

“ The Salvation Army are very active throughout Western Sydney and have been for many years. Alarmingly, we’re seeing record numbers of people needing our services for the first time; with cost of living assistance and family domestic violence very prominent. We cannot keep up with demand without serious funding; The Salvation Army wish to thank the Western Sydney Business Lunch Committee fire their continued support.– ANDREW ROBINSON, PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER, SALVATION ARMY AUSTRALIA

I was thrilled to attend and support the 2024 Salvos fundraising luncheon again this year supporting those in need and bringing Western Sydney together. This yearly event is an opportunity for us all to give back, enriching the lives of those less fortunate and as I reflect, I am reminded of the wonderful generosity of our Western Sydney Community. Thank you to all who played a part. – TREVOR OLDFIELD AM KSJ JP

Walker Corporation were proud to sponsor the Salvation Army Charity Lunch in Blacktown to help raise funds for their ongoing valuable work in supporting Western Sydney communities. Their tireless hours of dedication helps the homeless find shelter, provides essential medical services and education and crucially helps children at risk. We were delighted to work with the Salvos and congratulations on a wonderful event. –

“ The Salvation Army is a wonderful organization that takes on the role of helping those in need; My organization and family has also embraced the same principles in life and we were delighted to be involved and participate in the fundraising event held this year at The Workers Lifestyle Group Club at Blacktown. The values of helping our community and giving are paramount and we again congratulate the Western Sydney Corporates and Businesses who supported the charity luncheon and provided much needed funds to support the tremendous work and commitment to service provided by the Salvation Army. – PETER IVANY, AO, ENTREPRENEUR AND HEAD OF IVANY INVESTMENT GROUP
