Newsletter Brighton & Hove High School GDSt
Issue 13 January 2015
Dear Parents and Girls,
Welcome back and a Happy New Year to everyone. I hope parents enjoy reviewing, elsewhere in the newsletter, the festive activities that took place in school at the end of last term. I also hope the girls are looking forward to a Spring Term filled with hard work, friendship and creativity. However, for the moment - in what are indeed dark days - I feel it’s worth reflecting on how we should value being able to come to a place of learning without fear of violence and intimidation and being able to speak, write and make comment freely without terror. Events over the past few weeks in Glasgow, Potiskum and Paris have reminded me of the solemn duty we have as parents and educators to do everything we can to teach our daughters about both fearlessness and tolerance and, above all, to encourage them to make the most of every opportunity life offers. Here’s to the opportunities of 2015 for all of us. Have a peaceful weekend. Jennifer Smith
