Annual Public Lecture


On Monday 23rd September MISA hosted its Annual Public Lecture in collaboration with Creative Ireland at the Davis Coakley Lecture theatre, MISA, St James’s Hospital.
Prof. Daisy Fancourt, Professor of Psychobiology and Epidemiology at University College London delivered a fascinating lecture on the impact that the arts can have on public health. Her lecture provided a critical and insightful appraisal of the significant scientific evidence supporting the positive, and synergistic relationship between the arts and health outcomes.
Chaired by Tania Banotti (Creative Ireland) a lively panel discussion followed. The panel included Professor Mary Horgan, Interim Chief Medical Officer, Department of Health, Dr. Siobhán Ní Bhriain, HSE National Clinical Director Integrated Care, & Dr Kevin McCarroll, Director of Creative Life, MISA.
