16. 1 1/2 Sticks of Butter 1/2 Cup Sugar 1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar Sprinkles
Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl beat the vanilla and egg together. Beat together butter, sugar, and powdered sugar in another bowl until slightly creamy. Stop to scrape the sides of the bowl and then beat for another minute. Reduce speed to low and slowly add in egg mixture. Add the flour mixture one cup at a time and scrape the bowl in-between each addition. Once dough starts to form, scrape out onto a tray and divide into 2 parts. Shape each piece into a square and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate dough overnight or for at least 3 hours. Take out dough and let soften for about 15 minutes. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick and then cut out stars using a cookie cutter. Use one square at a time to prevent dough from getting too soft. Place cut cookies onto a parchment lined baking tray and sprinkle with sprinkles Put tray in a 350 degree oven for 18-20 minutes. Bake, rotating pans around and switching top and bottom cookie trays so that the cookies bake evenly. Cool for 30 minutes before eating.
