Nestled on the shore of the FSU Rez’s lake, this cylindrical structure, accessed through a garden pathway, provides a sanctuary for students. Imbued with lush vegetation, plush seating, cozy nooks, and nature-connected decks, the center addresses mental health disparities among college students. With awareness of the need for peer connections and a deeper bond with nature, the design seeks to provide a nurturing space for student well-being.

TEA & COFFEE STATION

CONCEPT

As time passes, we as a society continue to stray from our innate human need for connectedness with nature. This design provides a space for college students experiencing stress and isolation to come together and retreat to times when the world was more grounded.

The design appeals to the five senses, utilizing sustainable practices, biophilia, and social connectedness to transport students into an oasis that rekindles their connection to the Earth. It serves as a reminder that life is a collection of big memories made of little moments. Yesterday is the best tomorrow. It is time to rediscover our roots!

The incorporation of way finding features, such as colored inset rubber flooring and ceiling cues, assist with navigation and provide positive distractions.

CONCEPT

These attributes will emulate the calming and captivating environment of a cove, allowing children to feel sheltered within the space. Organic elements and interactive zones will provide positive distractions for the patients and their family members, to encourage positive emotions. Clear sight lines and way-finding systems will be utilized to allow children a sense of control while navigating the clinic. THE ARGONAUT BUILDING

The objective of this project was to build the structural and interior components of a two-story office building for a local lobbyist. The main learning focus was on generating an 18-page construction documentation set, which includes floor plans, ceiling plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and detail drawings, as seen in the following pages. This undertaking significantly enhanced my proficiency in Revit, and provided valuable insights into the construction document creation process

CONTINUING THE DESIGN...

Following the completion of the home’s interior, I was tasked with the design of the Smiths’ rear patio to be completed within three weeks. The goal was to create a space for cooking, entertaining, and relaxation, emphasizing accessibility and biophilic design. Biophilic elements, like natural materials and features such as fire and water are incorporated. The patio serves as an accessible, natureinspired extension of the interior, supporting the Smiths’ aging-in-place needs while offering a peaceful indooroutdoor transition.

FLOOR PLAN

BUILDING SECTION

The front garden serves as an area for worshipers to gather and reflect before entering the space. The water fall window incorporates an element of biophilia within the design while still allowing natural light to flow into the interior.

As worshipers enter the shrine, they can follow a direct path up the ramp to the indoor and outdoor worship space or enjoy various social spaces along the edges of the plan.
