Kerrie & Dean BE16

WRIGHT all along... Dean and I first met through my friend Lucy (who is now married to Dean’s brother). At first Dean and I were just friends and after six years of friendship, a lot of flirting and the occasional kiss Dean asked me out. Dean had asked me out a few times before but I always said no as I was worried it would ruin our friendship if it didn’t work. Eventually at a friend’s wedding I asked Dean if he would like to see how things go, and we have never looked back since. I was attracted to his fantastic personality and of course his handsome features. Dean was just so much fun and always made me laugh, I think that in the beginning I was just afraid to ruin things.

Brides name: Kerrie Browne Grooms name: Dean Wright Home town: Brentwood Ceremony and reception venue: Gosfield Hall Wedding date: 2nd December 2011

For our first date Dean took me to The Piano Lounge in Epping, I was so nervous even though we had known each other for ages!! After about 2 and half months I knew I was falling in love with Dean. After being together for 2 amazing years Dean proposed. I always hoped he would ask me but I was so shocked when he finally did as I never thought it would really happen. We were living in Singapore at the time but had returned home to visit our families. Dean got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of my mum, dad, sister and brother in law, as well as my dearest aunt & uncle who had flown in from Australia. For me it was the perfect proposal. I am a big family girl and Dean knows how much

my family mean to me. It was the most amazing feeling having them all there to share in this beautiful moment with us. The ring was gorgeous, it was a radiant cut diamond on a platinum band, and I felt like a very lucky girl! Not long after our engagement we were in full planning mode, we decided on a black tie theme. Due to the time of year we thought this would give the day a romantic and glamorous feel. We both loved the idea of a winter wedding and chose the beautiful Gosfield Hall. The grounds are stunning all year round and the interior is so elegant, it just worked so well with our theme. We chose Gosfield Hall as unlike other large houses, Gosfield Hall allows you to use all of the property and the grounds. I fell in love with the venue as soon as I saw it. It’s every girls dream to shop for a wedding dress, and my mum very generously bought my dress from Vera Wang. I cried the first time I tried it on, as did my mum and cousin who were both at the fitting. The dress took my breath away it made me feel so special, I knew instantly that it was “the one”. I was like a little girl and didn’t want to take it off! My final night was spent at home with my mum and aunt as well as our little girl who was 7 months old at the time. It was a lovely relaxing evening as I wanted to be fully prepared for the big day ahead of me. On the big day the preparations started about 7am, I chose to get ready at the venue in the beautiful Bridal suite – which is like something out of Cinderella. As I pulled up to the venue I saw my bridesmaid Lucy arriving and promptly burst into tears, I could not believe the day was finally here. All the preparations and details that I had been working on for this huge day were finally in motion.

My make-up was done by a fantastic artist called Lisa Barker and my hair was styled by Terry Marshall. I was over the moon with both, especially as the day before the wedding I had decided to wear my hair down instead of the “up do” which we practised in the trials. Getting ready that day I felt very calm, everything just felt so surreal but the moment I climbed into my dress the nerves hit me. My nerves finally subsided as I rounded the corridor to walk down the 112 foot aisle to Dean. We decided to have a civil ceremony hosted in the Queens Chamber, and it was a good choice as it just looked incredible. As I walked down the aisle I couldn’t stop smiling, I felt so proud and happy that all our amazing friends and family were here with us to witness me marrying the man of my dreams. I just felt so happy, I couldn’t believe Dean was finally going to be my husband and I couldn’t wait to be his wife. I walked down the aisle to song bird by Eva Cassidy. The ceremony was incredible and I loved every moment of it. After the ceremony we treated our guests to a medley of songs by Ian a fantastic Ratpack and Sinatra singer. We then moved to the main room for the wedding breakfast, the room looked so opulent and so fitting with our theme, it felt like we were in a fairy tale! We chose to celebrate with 108 of our nearest and dearest as well as 60 evening guests. We wanted our closest friends and family to witness our marriage, and we certainly got our wish. For our wedding breakfast we decided to give our guests a choice of 3 starters, mains and desserts. As we wanted everyone to

have a meal they really enjoyed. The speeches were fantastic, emotional and very funny. We decided our first dance would be to Joe Cocker ‘Beautiful’ which is our song. It’s so romantic but we giggled like teenagers all the way through as we were so happy. For the evening entertainment we had a DJ who was supplied by the venue. We would have liked to pick our own as we, like most people, have our own musical tastes but unfortunately this wasn’t an option. After the big day we spent a couple of well-earned weeks relaxing in the Maldives for our honeymoon at the amazing Reethi Rah resort, it was out of this world and the perfect ending to our perfect wedding! I love married life, I enjoy being a wife and calling Dean my husband I feel so proud to be Mrs Wright. In the future we plan to have more babies and to enjoy life to the full. We often discuss that one day we plan to head to Vegas and renew our vows, and with a bit of luck I will get to wear my dress again - if I can ever fit into it after another child :) “I would advise all future brides to savour every moment of your big day, everyone gave that advice to me and I still can’t believe how quickly it went. As soon as we were married and walked back down the aisle as man and wife I wanted to do it all over again. It’s one of the most important days of your life so hold on to every detail and enjoy it.”
