BRICKFIELD RANGERS Club’ s History

Wrexham Youth League, and are now into nearly, 40 years of continue all in the community with twenty four teams playing football at all levels

The Court Rd playing field commonly known as the Brickie was the clubs home ground before moving to Clywedog Park in 2013.

In order to continue player’s development, when players came to an end with their youth section at Brickie a senior team was formed. Many of the players the club has produced have gone on to be involved with professional clubs. These include the likes of premier player Robbie Savage, while many others stay with the club for all their playing careers going on to represent the club at senior level and then start coaching for the club

The Club which is affiliated to the North East Wales Football Association and Football Association of Wales, for season 2013/14 are running twenty four teams, which include fourteen youth teams in nine age groups, two girls only teams in the North Wales Girls League ranging in age from Under 11’s to 14’s, totalling over 300 youth players.

Our adult teams play in the Welsh National League, with the senior of them competing in the Premier Division, and a senior Sunday adult team playing in the Wrexham Sunday League.

We are one of only two clubs in Wales who are affiliated to the SPECIAL OLYMPICS.

The club have over sixty volunteers directly running its activities which include training nights, match days, soccer schools, supporting local schools and community council with their football activities All of the clubs 400 + members are locally based and the club holds weekly training sessions for all its members and weekly or fortnightly organised games.

We run a junior coaching scheme were we recruit new coaches from our under sixteen section and support them in gaining their coaching qualifications and MV 50 recognition.

The club holds holiday clubs at its home ground throughout the school holidays, runs after school clubs for local schools, organises and runs the community councils open fun football 5-a-side activity, supports Wrexham County Borough Olympic awareness and Extravaganza days, runs special needs and girls football soccer schools, supports the Council schools football programme and runs St Christopher’s secondary (special needs) school after school club.

The club have run the only special needs soccer programme for the seventeen junior schools with special needs units throughout the North East Wales region coaching 236 Children in102 Coaching Sessions and held Wrexham’s first ever soccer fun day with games and activity’s for the schools with a special needs unit.

In 2007and again in 2012 the club was honored with winning the prestigious FAW TRUST CLUB OF THE YEAR and in 2009, 2012 ,2013, 2014 and 2015 the WREXHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL SPORTS CLUB OF THE YEAR, a remarkable achievement.
