In 2010 we celebrated the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birthday. It was a year that united many organizations throughout the world in promoting Chopin’s music. Even though, the anniversary has passed, our organization consistently with previous years conFrom left to right: Eric Walther, Marian Zak, tinues to cultivate Chopin’s name by organizing the Suzanne Walther XIII International Chopin & Friends Festival. Due to NYDAI’s dedication to Chopin’s music and name, I received a certificate of appreciation from the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Bogdan Zdrojewski. Further, for their dedication to promoting Chopin, our board members Suzanne Walther and Eric Walther received a bust of Chopin created by a renowned Polish Sculptor Andrzej Szczepanski „Seta”, which I had the immense pleasure of presenting it to them.

Above all, I would like to express my undivided gratitude to our sponsors whose support continues and enables the production of the festival year after year.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland continues to grant us their generous support and every year hosts the performances of our Festival. New York Dance & Arts Innovations has had many years of great cooperation with the Polish & Slavic Center. In December of 2010, I was elected by the members of the Polish & Slavic Center to the Board of Directors of the organization and received the honor of holding the position of 2nd Vice President. PSC has 40 thousand members. Before becoming elected, I communicated that I would like to utilize my organizational knowledge to further the growth and development of this prestigious Polish organization. It was my predecessors in the PSC who had the fabulous vision of creating the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union, the organization which now financially supports all of the Polish community. Bravo! Biography: Kinga Augustyn, Violinist Described as “a violinist for whom nothing seems too difficult” Polish violinist Kinga Augustyn made her New York debut in Weill Hall, Carnegie Hall, in 2008, and has also released a CD with Nicolo Paganini 24 Caprices for Violin Solo. Having distinguished herself as both a virtuoso and scholar of the instrument during the early part of her career, she earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees at The Juilliard School, where she studied with Cho Liang Lin, Naoko Tanaka, and Dorothy DeLay. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the SUNY, Stony Brook, where her teachers have included Philippe Graffin, Philip Setzer, and Pamela Frank.

Ms. Augustyn’s many orchestral appearances include performances with the Magdeburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra Leopoldinum, Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra, American Academy of Conducting Orchestra at the Aspen Music Festival, Empire State Sinfnia, and Augusta Symphony Orchestra. In addition to a list of distinguished performances throughout Europe, she has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States at Carnegie Hall (Stern Auditorium and Weill Recital Hall), Alice Tully Hall, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Merkin Hall, Kosciuszko Foundation, 7 World Trade Center, Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, Bargemusic, Polish and Hungarian Embassies in Washington, DC, Aspen Music Tent, Aspen, CO, and the Ethical Society in Philadelphia, PA. Committed to increasing awareness of music by Polish composers, she is known for including an extensive library of their works in many of her programs. An advocate and promoter of contemporary music, Ms. Augustyn has premiered performances of Michael White’s Sonata for Violin and Piano and Trio Sonata, composed especially for her, and has recorded his Quartet for Piano and Strings.

Being versatile as a musician, Ms. Augustyn also plays a Baroque Violin and has been involved in early music activities at the Juilliard School, where she performed during the 2008 and 2009 Residency of early music specialists William Christie and Les Arts Florissants.

Ms. Augustyn won international awards, including First Prize at the Alexander & Buono International String Competition (New York, 2009), Special Award of the Artist International Presentations (New York, 2007), Second Prize at the Kosciuszko Foundation Wieniawski Violin Competition (New York, 2007), Special Audience Award at the Johannes Brahms International Competition (Poertschach, Austria, 2001), First Prize at the J. S. Bach String Competition (Zielona Gora, Poland, 1999), Special Prize for Virtuosity and Fourth Prize at the Kloster Schoental International Young Artist Competition (Kloster Scheontal, Germany, 1999). Most recently, in 2010, she won First Prize at the Ackerman Chamber Music Competition at Stony Brook, NY, and was also featured as an Artist of The Month of the Alexander and Buono String Competition.

Ms. Augustyn is a member of Trio21, collaborating with two world- class musicians- pianist Jeffrey Biegel and cellist Robert deMaine. Her other current projects include a CD recording of Polish music.

Efi Hackmey, Pianist Pianist Efi Hackmey pursues a dynamic career as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician. This season he performs the Chopin F minor concerto with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra in Israel, and a solo recital at the Rose Studio, Lincoln Center. Mr. Hackmey has performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. A native of Israel, he has performed at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Jerusalem Music Center, and in special concerts presented by the Arthur Rubinstein International Music Society. He performed many additional concerts in Israel and Germany, and in the US states of Alabama, Florida, Indiana, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas. He has performed on Israeli TV Channel 2, and his recordings have been broadcast on the Israeli National Public Radio, and in the US on WTSU, WRWA and WTJB. Mr. Hackmey is based primarily in New York. He is an avid chamber musician, with performances at Bargemusic, Kosciuszko Foundation and the Friends of Mozart series at Christ and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. A review of one of his recent New York performances quotes “excellent Israeli musician… under his fingers the piano sounded noble, and each phrase was full of character”, and further praises his “highly personal, thought through interpretation.” (Roman Markowicz, “Nowy Dziennik”).

Efi is also interested in reaching out to new audiences, and in this context he toured west Texas with acclaimed soprano Raquela Sheeran in March 2010. This tour, which was sponsored by the New York based Piatigorsky Foundation, included seven recitals in high schools and public libraries, and Raquela and Efi repeated the program later at an elementary school in Manhattan. In 2011 Raquela and Efi will tour Wyoming and Idaho.

Mr. Hackmey has served on the piano faculty at DePauw University (20072009), and he also taught at the Indiana University system (2005-2008).

He is on the faculty of Summertrios chamber music festival since summer 2009. He studied piano and orchestra conducting at Tel Aviv University, and is now completing his doctoral studies in piano performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He has studied with Menahem Pressler, Pnina Salzman and Dina Turgeman, and has coached with Lazar Berman, Emanuel Ax, Richard Goode, Janos Starker, David Zinman, Richard Stoltzman and Jaime Laredo.

Professor, Doctor Honoris Causa, Mariusz Dąbrowski graduated with distinctions from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, Poland where he studied painting with professor Stanisław Wieczorek, professor Walter Karling, professor Tadeusz Dominik and professor Zbigniew Gostomski. In 2005 he received Ph.D from Leon Schiller Film School in Łódz, Poland. He is a Chair of Photography Institute, Graphics Department, Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and an author of numerous exhibition and events, among others: Warsaw Biennale of Media Art, Warsaw Art Photography Festival, Spokojna Media Art Gallery at Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts; 2005-2007 Photo Open Air Workshop in Sousse, North Africa; Photo Workshop in Kazimierz Dolny, Poland and over a dozen of young artists exhibitions in Poland and abroad.

He is an Editor-in-Chief of “Media Art/ Sztuka.

Dr. Przemysław J. Moskal is an Assistant Professor in the Digital Media Arts Program at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. He received his Master degree from Tisch School of the Arts, New York University and his Ph.D. in Film Art under the supervision of professor Stanisław Szymańvski from Leon Schiller Film School in Łódz, Poland. His interactive art works have been exhibited at numerous digital media arts festivals, conferences and galleries in the U.S. and abroad.

The Polish Exchange program was established by Dr. Przemysław J. Moskal (Canisius College, NY) and Dr. Mariusz Dąbrowski (Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, Poland) in 2008. The program promotes the exchange of faculty and students between the two institutions through educational and artistic workshops, lectures and trips.

Biography: Nina Kuźma-Sapiejewska, Pianist Nina Kuźma-Sapiejewska is among the finest examples of today’s brilliantly talented and versatile musicians, recognized internationally as a true master of the keyboard. The New York Times calls her “an expert on Chopin,” “absolutely first rate” writes The Washington Star. The Washington Post describes her recital as “electrifying performance” and the Toronto’s Globe and Mail features an article entitled “Tenderly Warm Bach.” The Greek newspaper Makedonia comments “a pianist of international scale” and the Polish Gazeta Krakowska says “she is a virtuoso.” The Swiss Solothurner Zeitung praises her concert “the assets of this Polish pianist not only remind the meditative tone of Rubinstein, but also show the fiery temperament and virtuosity arousing enormous applause.”

Born in Warsaw, Poland, she received her formal education at the Music Lyceum in Bydgoszcz and at the Academy of Music in Gdansk. Her teacher was Prof. Lucjan Galon, an eccentric pianist, a pupil of Frederic Lamond, a Scottish virtuoso, who was a protégé of Franz Liszt and Johannes Brahms. Nina Sapiejewska continued her studies at the Juilliard School of Music in New York with Prof. Jacob Lateiner and Prof. Claus Adam of the Juilliard String Quartet as well as at Tanglewood, Aspen and Temple University Music Festivals with Prof. Claude Frank, Prof. Jeannine Dowis, Prof. Sasha Gorodnitzky and Prof. Sydney Foster. Additionally, she worked with Prof. Leon Fleisher in Baltimore, Prof. Eugene List in New York and Prof. Maria Curcio in London.

She has been invited to perform as a recitalist and guest soloist with many symphony orchestras in America and in Europe. Her tours have taken her to Canada, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Greece, Holland, Norway, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Egypt, and Greek and Turkish Cyprus.

Numerous classical romantic and modern music presentations added some interesting features to this artist’s career as a recitalist: sixteen “All Chopin Recitals” at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, recitals at Town Hall in New York, The Kennedy Center, The National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C., The Glenn Gould Studio in Toronto, The Accademia Filharmonica Romana in Rome, The Royal Castle in Warsaw and many historic palaces, museums, universities and even the ships like the S/S France and the Queen Elizabeth II. She has recorded for most Radio and TV stations in Europe and some in the United States, and participated in many prestigious music festivals, creating among others the first Chopin & Friends Festival in New York in 1999.

Koch Classics issued Nina Sapiejewska’s CD of Frederic Chopin. The CD of Robert Schumann will soon be released. On January 1993 Nina Sapiejewska received an award from the President of Council of the City of New York in recognition of her outstanding cultural achievements.

In March 2009 The New York Times published a long article about the pianist and a slide and sound show.

Ewa Maria Wójcik, Actress Since early childhood, Ewa Maria Wójcik was enchanted with reciting poems and at the age of eleven was awarded First Prize at the French Poetry Competition in New York for presenting the fables of Jean de la Fontaine.

Born in Washington D.C. she attended the French-American School and the Lycée Français of New York for eleven years before graduating from Mamaroneck High School. To pursue her artistic studies, she chose the Stella Adler Studio and later continued for two years at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, graduating with a Certificate in Acting. Then, Ewa Maria attended Hunter College and Fordham University at Lincoln Center, and in 2009, received her BA in Theatre.

For several years, Ewa Maria toured Poland presenting recitals of 19th century Romantic poetry in their original languages - Polish, English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Ewa Maria teaches theatre to young children at the New York French American Charter School in Harlem.

Jan Roszkowski, Cellist Cellist Jan Roszkowski draws attention for his charisma and passion for music whether presenting a classical concert or playing at the Jordanian Princesses’ dinner party. A recipient of various scholarships – Fulbright and Hans & Klara Bauer among others, Jan is currently enrolled in the master’s degree program at Manhattan School of Music studying with Prof. David Gaber and is pursuing Jazz Piano and Composition studies.

Born in Suwalki, Poland, Jan started to play cello at the age of five and received his formal music education at the Frederic Chopin University in Warsaw, graduating with a master’s degree. His teacher was Prof. Kazimierz Michalik.

He participated in several summer courses and music festivals like Viersen Music Summer and Il Internationale Cello Academie in Schlitz, Germany and Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy, studying with Elias Ariscuren, Bonnie Hampton, Tobias Khune, Troels Svane, David Mueller-Schott, Andrzej Bauer and Tomasz Strahl. He was awarded several prizes: at Chamber Music Competition in Wroclaw, Warsaw Chamber Music Competition for Young Musicians, and Cello Competition in Elblag, Poland.

He has an extensive concert career playing solo and chamber music in Poland, Italy, France, Holland, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Russia, China, and The United States.

Jan has performed at various festivals like Mozartina Festival and Swietojanskie Swietowanie in Gdansk, 14th Festival of Baroque Music in Pasym, America Romantica versus Chopin in Opinogora, and played gala concerts at the largest castle in the world in Malbork, Poland, Music Center in Brussels, Hotel des Invalides in Paris, and Jay Heritage Center in Rye, NY. He has gained a lot of popularity in Poland performing piano and cello recitals with Nina Kuzma-Sapiejewska and violin and cello recitals with his brother Adam. Jan Roszkowski has recorded for the Polish Radio & TV, Radio BIS, Dux and Kayax.

Exhibition: Opening of the “Decentrism” Exhibition President, Robert Andre Curator of the exhibition, Janusz Kapusta My first encounter with decentrism was bases on a misunderstanding. I thought that the group – at that time I perceived them as a group of photographers – creates outside of the established centers, for example: in Kolo, Katowice, Ostrowiec, etc...

Later, I realized that decentrism involves wider group of artists: painters, sculptors, graphic artists, photographers, who in opposition to central placement of figures, events, or nature in an image, try to reveal in their art peripheries, traces, shadows, provocations, suggesting what is beyond the frame of the center.

Adam Wiśniewski Snerg in the initial 1987 manifesto wrote: “A painting expresses the postulate of the decentrist thought when the centre of the depicted object is placed somewhere outside the work’s borders, from which place it dominates the depicted surrounding”.

In my opinion, it’s an interesting proposition, however, like with everything in life and specially in art, the final effect counts the most. It has to either enrich us, touch us, or repulse us. My hope is that “Decentrism” exhibition, which includes 18 Polish photographers, will evoke in a viewer one of these reactions.

- Janusz Kapusta Sergiusz Sachno Sergiusz Sachno was born in China. He studied sociology at the University of Warsaw and, in March 1968, went on to read philosophy and sociology at Charles’ University in Prague, from which he graduated in 1970.

He specialises in portrait, theatre, fashion and general advertising photography. He has presented his works in Poland on several dozen occasions, in both one-man and group exhibitions. He has also taken part in numerous photography shows abroad, including exhibitions in Sydney, Tokyo, Montreal, Toronto, Prague, Amsterdam and Berlin.

He runs portrait and nude photography classes at the ZPAF School of Photography and lectures on advertising photography at the Higher School of Art and Design in Łódź. He has a PhD from the State Higher Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź.

Grzegorz Gałęzia Born in 1969 in Prusinowice, Świętokrzyskie Province.

Graduated from the English Department from the University of Warsaw (M.A.) and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Hebrew Studies from the University of Oxford. Works as an English interpreter and translator.

Member of the Polish Art Photographers Association (ZPAF), „Stodola 60” Photographic Club, Fotoklub Galeria MCK in Ostrowiec and ARTELUX Open Authors Group.

He specialises in reportage; often uses his photographs to illustrate his own articles.His photographs has been published in the “Chicago Tribune”, the “Oxford Student”, “Polityka”, “Rzeczpospolita”, “Gentleman”, “Gazeta Wyborcza” and others, and in several books.

Jerzy Piątek Born in Pińczów in 1946. Since 1953 he has lived and worked in Kielce. Since 1978, member of Polish Art Photographers Association(ZPAF). Landscape and nude photographer. Pioneer of the Kielce Landscape School. Author of numerous individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Participant of open-air workshops and mutual exhibitions. Initiator and publisher or co-publisher of albums on photography both mutual and monographic issues, including „Masters of Polish landscape” and „Kielce Landscape School” . His works were published in exhibition catalogues and in periodicals about art.

Jakub Kaczanowski Born in 1985 in Ostrowiec Św; graduated from the University of Computer Engineering and Telecommunication in Kielce. At present he is a student at the Higher School of Art. And Design, Faculty of Photography. Member of the Photo Club Gallery MCK in Ostrowiec Sw. His specialty is fashion and portrait photography.

Artur Dziwirek Born in Białystok, a member of the Polish Art Photographers Association (ZPAF) and the Photo Club CKF in Kielce. The main subject of his artistic creative interests is architectural photography, in which he looks for his favorite fragments and architectural details. Constructivistic and minimalistic currents are dominant in his photographs.

Agnieszka Radlak Born in 1972 in Ostrowiec Św.. Member of the Polish Art Photographers Association (ZPAF) since 2004. She is connected with the Photo Club Gallery MCK in Ostrowiec Sw. since 2003 and took part in several photographic open-air workshops and group exhibitions.

Original creative composition of space is her main subject of interest. She creates works in character of surrealistic landscape using objects in a scenery full of unclear and fanciful shadows.

Stanisław Dunin-Borkowski Born in 1982 in Ostrowiec Św. He is connected with of the Photo Club Gallery MCK in Ostrowiec Sw. Participant of several openair photographic workshops. Peregrination to places faded away by time and deserted by people (old factories, houses and other places that were vibrant with life in the past) is his main photographic interest. He is searching with particular interest for old tables that remained after the old political system and for slogans that are today only funny relics of those strange times.

Mirosław Araszewski Born in 1941 in Baranowicze. Graduated from the Film Production and Management Department of the State Film, Television and Theatrical School in Łódź (PWSFTviT). At present he is an associate professor and a deputy dean of the Higher School of Art and Design in Łódź. He specializes in artistic and functional photography, in particular in the areas of: advertising, fashion and industry. He had several individual and took part in numerous group exhibitions.

Mira Rewers She lives and creates her photographic works in France. Her great passion is artistic photography and the basic idea shaping her look and affecting the lens setting is decentrism. Light of shadow. Cry of color and escape in grayness Over-vigilance and unclear feelings of liberation Reflection and intuitive play of feelings Speaking with certain voice and shy whisper of never-ending stories.

Graduated from the Electrotechnical Faculty of the Technical University of Lublin and from postgraduate study of computer graphic at the Higher School of Commerce in Kielce. Member of Photo Club of the Republic of Poland in Warsaw and a member of the Board of Directors of the Photo Club Gallery MCK in Ostrowiec Sw. Author of individual and group exhibitions; participant of numerous photographic open- air workshops. He goes in landscape, documentary and pinhole photography. Apart from photography his passions are religion and icons.

Jacek Jędrzejczak Born in Warsaw where he lives and creates his photographic works. A graduate of the Warsaw University, member of the Polish Art Photographers Association. He goes in artistic photography and video art, experiments in various art disciplines. The main direction of his artistic experiments is analysis of human psyche and its dark sides – fears, anxieties, causes of aggression. He has been exploring for many years all issues pertaining phototherapy and working with human body. He is the author of term “psycho photography-inner photography” and of the theory of psycho photography, which he has been using since 1995. Lecturer, art collector, publisher.

Andrzej Łada Born in 1953 in Ostrowiec Sw., member of the Polish Art Photographers Association since 1988. He works for the Municipal Cultural Centre in Ostrowiec Sw. where he has established a photographic gallery. Author of several individual photographic exhibitions organized in Poland and abroad. Distinguished with Order of Merit for Polish Culture awarded by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. He was granted a scholarship for his artistic work from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2011.

Justyna Gentile Łada Born in 1977 in Ostrowiec Sw. A graduate of the Catholic University of Lublin - Faculty of Art History. She is one of founder-members of the Photo Club Gallery MCK in Ostrowiec Sw. She takes in stage, act and portrait photography and treats her photography as a kind of “auto-theatre”. She seeks for inspiration in herself, in her emotions and dreams. The way she expresses bothering problems in connects her artistic work with works of surrealists. She is a member of the Polish Art Photographers Association and has exhibited her photographic works in several individual and group exhibitions.

Ryszard Kaczmarski Born in 1957 in Gdynia. A graduate of the Maria CurieSkłodowska University in Lublin. Member of Photo Club of the Chełm Land and the President of the Lublin District of the Polish Art Photographers Association. Sailor and traveller. The author of numerous exhibitions, shows and photographic workshops organized in Poland and abroad. He carries out projects with the use of “camera obscura” (pinhole photography). He lives in Chełm where he established an original photographic gallery.

Marek Rachwał Born in Kraków; he lives and works in Ostrowiec Św. Lawyer from education, has a passion for photography. He participated in many photographic open-air workshops and group exhibitions. He has been involved in activity of the Photo Club Gallery MCK in Ostrowiec Sw. since the very beginning of its existence. In his artistic experiments he is inclined to subjective document and photographic reportage because as says “finding subjects in reality is much more interesting than their adaptation”.

Piotr Komorowski Born in 1955 in Wrocław. In the years of 1989-1995 he was connected with the idea of elementarism. He has been taking in adapted photography. He is also the author of critical texts pertaining to photography. He is professionally connected with the Higher School of Art and Design in Łódź and the Academy of Arts in Wrocław. The originator and co-founder of the International Forum of Photography “Kwadrat” in Wrocław.

Cezary Łutowicz Designer of jewelry and fashion, a member the Polish Art Photographers Association, participated in numerous exhibitions in Europe and Asia. Photography is for him the beginning, starting point to conscious transformation of picture in the direction of his own transmission.

He is interested in a stain, line, figural and coloristic composition, a certain degree of generality. He lives and works in Sandomierz.

Robert Andre Born in 1952 in Kielce. Graduate of the Poznań University of Technology and a chemical engineer from profession. He is a co-founder and the president of the Koło Photographic Club “FAKT”. Organizer of photographic workshops and competitions. His works have been shown in numerous individual and group exhibitions. He mainly takes in act, portrait and creative photography. Member of the Polish Art Photographers Association. He lives in Konin.

Janusz Kapusta, curator He graduated from the high school of Fine Arts in Poznan. Afterwards he graduated from the Department of Architecture at the Warsaw Polytechnic. He studied the History of Philosophy at the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw. Kapusta is an artist interested in Mathematics and Philosophy. His work ranges from small graphic forms, posters, magazine illustrations, graphic design, book illustrations, to set designs and painting. Since 1981 Kapusta has been living in New York and his works appeared in “The New York Times”, “The Wall Street Journal”, “The Washington Post” and others. He also contributed illustrations for “The Captive Mind”, published by The Limited Edition Club (1984), a book by the famous Polish writer and Nobel laureate Czeslaw Milosz. In 1985 Janusz Kapusta discovered a new geometrical shape – an eleven faced polyhedron, which he called the K-dron (www.K-dron.com).

He was an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Mercy College (New York City campus) He participated as a commentator in Polish and American Radio and TV programs In Poland: Journalist – “Gazeta Krakowska” (Daily News) His articles were published among others by: “Tygodnik Powszechny”, “Gazeta Wyborcza and “Dziennik Polski” in Krakow. He is the author of a play “Lêk”, wrote a novel “Nowojorski sen” (not published yet), wrote a screenplay for a TV serial.

Nina Polan (Janina Katelbach), Founder, Artistic and Executive Director of the Polish Theatre Institute since 1983 Actress, singer and stage director. Thought born in Poland, she was raised in London, where she graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She started working in the English theater and performed under Peter Brook’s direction in DARK OF THE MOON, on London West End, as well as in many roles, in London and various regional British theatres and Polish productions, as well as in filmes and movies. She also toured in Europe (Paris, Madrit) and appeared in Spain, in Edgar Neville’s film, QUENTO DE HADAS.

After a stint in Radio Free Europe, in Munich, she came to the USA and performed in the American theater in New York City, at LaMaMa and various other venues, on tour and on stock, in regional theatres in the US at the Seattle Rep, the New Orleans Playhouse, American Players Theater, NJ Shakespeare Festival, and many other companies, playing a great number of Shakespearean and contemporary roles, as well as on TV (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE), in films (SOPHIE’S CHOICES, FEVER) and in radio (WQXR, RFE, VOA) among others.

She concertized extensively in various languages. Nina Polan is an executive nad artistic Director of the Polish Theater Institute in America from 1984. There are 24 plays in in the theater’s repertuar.

Recently they took a part in the street festival Make Music New York with KALEIDOSCOPE OF POLISH SONGS that was performed at the same day in three different neighborhoods Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. This play was repeated on Summer Street Festival after the invitation from the city of New York.

Janina Katelbach was decoreted with Krzyz Kalawerski Orderu Zaslugi RP, Srebrny Medal Stowarzyszenia Wspolnota Polska and Zloty Medal “Zasluzony Kulturze Gloria Artis” for an activity in aid of Polish Culture.

Among the numerous roles she performed is Helena Modrzejewska, who was an extraordinary actress and theatre personality, Polish/American star of the later part of the 19th century. The play HELENA, THE QUEEN OF EMIGRANTS written by Kazimierz Braun will be performed for the first time in Warsaw in Royal Lazienki in 2008. Nina Polan is also preparing for the US tour with HELENA in English, in the anniversary of Helena Modrzejewska’s death.

Izabella Laskowska (Martha) Professional actress, broadcaster, journalist and radio host personality.

Founder and Director of Amber Gallery, NYC (March 2002-January 2004).

Represented young European and American painters, Sergiusz Sachno, 1986 rok sculptors, photographers and artisans. Krystyna Tyszkiewicz (Agnieszka) graduated from the Theater Academy in Warsaw, Poland with a Master of Arts and has continued her education at AADA in NY. Krystyna worked in theaters in Poland and Greece in plays, TV productions and musicals in respective languages. She participated in the International Symposium of Ancient Greek Drama, playing in Lysistrata by Aristophanes in Paphos Odeon, appeared at the American Thymele Theater production of The Grocer’s Daughter in NY. Performed with the Polish Theater Institute in the USA and abroad.

Grzegorz Heromiński (Stefan) has twenty years of career in Poland. He has performed in theaters in Tarnow, Opole & Łódz.

Mr. Heromiński played many major dramatic and comedic roles. He appeared in the films of Hass’s, Zygadly’s, Kolski’s and Machulski’s. He is preparing a drama auto-biographical entitled “Ja za woda”.

Peter Rudziński (Mark) has appeared in many PTI’s productions such as A reprise of the Red Riding Hood, Mickiewicz and Lithuania, An Old Fashion Polish Sleigh Ride and Lightening.

He has graduated from the Film, Theater & TV Academy in Lodz, Poland and Institute of Audio Research in NY. Currently, he works as a TV Correspondent for TV Polonia and video producer. Mr. Rudzinski has performed in many roles in Poland and Budapest and was awarded in the Theater Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.
