Sumter High School serves just over 2400 students and is a member of Region 6 AAAAA; the largest classification in South Carolina. We are a member of the South Carolina High School League and are accredited through SACS. We are the only school in the district to offer a comprehensive International Baccalaureate diploma as well.

Sumter School District serves all students from Sumter County, SC, including Shaw Air Force Base. We have over 16,000 students, encompassing 682 square miles of a county with a population of 143,000 people. SSD has three high schools, seven middle schools, 14 elementary schools, a career center, and Early Head Start, an Adult Education and an alternative school.

Four year member of the Gamecocks program evolving from a Quarterback/Runningback to one of the premier Outside Linebackers in the state. He possesses excellent speedand agility as well as strength and vision. Marquis has seen ample time on both sides of the ball and is relied upon by the staff.

He has evolved into a fearless player and one who opponents fear and try torun away from. His nature isquiet and reserved but he lets it all out when he's onthe field!

Jordan has spent his Gamecocks career at thewide receiver position, and had emerged as the primary target of our QB's in 2022 leading the team in receptions and yards. His route running is unparalleld ; and he makes sharp cuts to get away from defenders. Hands seem like they are coated in stickum, and his leaping·ability is equally impressive.

Valdez has spent his four years with the Gamecocks as an offensive tackle. He has become very versatile during his career and has alsoseen time at guard and even center! Very solid footwork and can drive block as well as pass set for the quickest defensiveend. He has anchored theoffensive linethis season solely as the left tackle, and has played the the majority of the season with a broken left hand. This big man is very quiet and soft spoken, but don't let this fool you as he has oneof the largest aggressive streaks on theteam.

Mason isjust "one humongus young man" as a lot of people refer to him. Standing a 6'2" tall, his 295 pounds /of mass have very little fat. Mason practically lives in Va weight room all year round, and when he's not moving 1he steel, he's on the gridiron mashing opponents into e ground. The tallest member in our program, Trevor has found his home on the offensive line, specifically at the tackle ROSition. His length is amazing1 and his quickness and gili1y are likethat of a skill position player. He has juststarted to gain theweight we havebeen asking ,.,. him to gain for threeyears! Eats like there is no tomorrow. Solid run and passblocking skills, and he works hard and long to get better each day. Trevor is one of the more vocal players on the OL, and he likes to lead by example. His wingspan is well past seven feet, and his hands and size 17 feet arejust a glimpse of how big he can develop.

Gamecocks
The two most prestigious post season All Star games, the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, and the North South All Star game has been a personal goal of many players. Since Coach Barnes’ arrival in 2014, SEVENTEEN Gamecocks have been selected to participate. In 2021, there were no All Star games due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

Sumter High School has it’s own digital design and production graphics department within its campus! GamecockGrafx was started in 2019 by Brian Jackson and continues to grow each year. The premise behind this class/club is to teach our students how to create, design and produce wide format graphics on industry leading equipment.
Currently, Room B101 is where the magic happens—we have a HP Latex Wide Format Printer (can print over 5’ wide), a Summa Wide Forma Plotter/Cutter, a GFC Heat Assisted Laminator as well as a laser engraver and 3D printer. Hopefully soon, funding approval will arrive for our newest piece of equipment, a DTF (direct to film) printer - the newest revolution in garment printing!
GamecockGrafx produces a wide array of items such as vinyl banners, windscreen banners, window perf, window film, wall coverings, photo enlargement, decals, vehicle wraps, magnets, custom garment logos, vector services, and so much more. We just completed a 200 foot long by 4.5 foot tall windscreen for a baseball field and wrapped a jon boat in full camo for a local duck hunter.
We have done work for most of our local schools, outside of Sumter school districts, the State of South Carolina, South Carolina State University and a host of other businesses across SC! Our students like to tell people… “If you can dream it….we can do it!”
