Program book for the Brevard Symphony Orchestra's BSOlé concert on March 11, 2017, at the King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne, Florida. The BSO pays tribute to the music of Spain with BSOlé – a sizzling program filled with color, rhythm and unforgettable melodies. Orchestral highlights from the most popular opera ever written – Georges Bizet’s Carmen – open the concert. Internationally-renowned guitar virtuoso Pablo Villegas makes his BSO debut with a performance of Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez – a work whose gorgeous slow movement has been covered by countless artists including Miles Davis, Chick Corea and Deep Purple. Our celebration of Spain concludes with the BSO premiere of Manuel de Falla’s virtuosic ballet score The Three-Cornered Hat.
