BRCC thanks residents for supporting Christmas food and toy distribution

The Board of the Brentwood Regional Community Chest extends its sincere thanks to the community for once again supporting the annual Christmas food and toy distribution. “What began nearly 60 years ago through the generosity and vision of Rose Pierce continues to thrive today because of the remarkable compassion and commitment of our community,” said Dana Eaton, copresident of the Brentwood Regional Community Chest. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of individuals, families, businesses, and community groups, the board was proud to serve more than 500 local families this holiday season. large box of food, a turkey, all the ingredients for a Christmas dinner, a pie, and toys for their children, helping to ensure a meaningful and joyful holiday.

Local city offices limit hours for holidays The city of Oakley has announced that City Hall will remain closed until 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 5, with the exception of the police department, which will remain open. Building inspections will be available from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 26; Monday, Dec. 29; Tuesday, Dec. 30; and Friday, Jan. 2. Call 925-625-7005 to schedule an inspection request. All sameday requests need to be called in before 7 a.m. The Code Enforcement Division will be providing service calls concerning public health and safety issues on an as-needed basis. Call 911 for any health and safety emergencies. Public Records Act requests submitted during our closure will be received on Jan. 5 and staff will respond within 10 days of receipt.

Oakley City Hall is closed until Jan. 5.
