The Antioch school board recently voted to guarantee benefits for teachers for the next three years, but increased salaries by only 1.5 percent, less than the 2.3 percent cost-of-living adjustment teacherse received from the state. The vote came after 150 members of the Antioch Education Association (AEA) held a union rally outside the offices of the Antioch Unified School District on Dec. 10 to choruses of “Deck the halls with benefits and COLA [cost of living adjustment]” and “Jingle bells, jingle bells, benefits are due.” Teachers and their families and friends waved signs, sang songs, and urged Automotive......................................12A Business.............................................16A
