Spring Real Estate Guide

by Dawnmarie Fehr Correspondent

The Discovery Bay Garden Club (DBGC) will host a meeting next month to provide information to the community about the blue-green algae that plagues residents in the summer. Joe Doser, Supervising Environmental Health Specialist for the Contra Costa Environmental Health division, will be speaking about the algae and what people can do about it, Friday, April 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. “I’ll share with folks the role of the environmental health (division),” explained Doser, “causes of harmful algae blooms, health effects (on people and pets) and the results of our sampling. The best advice for prevention is to minimize the amount of nutrients getting into our waterways.”
