Last weekend, the Discovery Bay Chamber of Commerce (DBCC) hosted a glittering State of the Town gala at the Discovery Bay Country Club. Local community leaders and business owners gathered to celebrate their Delta community with dinner, dancing, gaming and awards. “I’m delighted that we received more than 1,700 votes to honor our most outstanding community members, businesses and organizations and that so many community leaders came out on Saturday to honor them,” said Amanda Dove, president of the DBCC. “The Discovery Bay Chamber of Commerce has been recognizing outstanding service at this event for 14 years. I’m proud of this organization and of the Discovery Bay community.” Dove was one of many residents who turned out to recognize the Chamber’s Nonprofit Organization of the Year, Business of

District begins search for new leadership by Aly Brown Staff Writer
In the midst of change, the Byron Union School District (BUSD) will focus on finding permanent leadership in two significant capacities. At its recent Jan. 24 board meeting, BUSD Interim Superintendent Rami Muth, the board and Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE) officials reviewed the schedule of recruitment for both a permanent district superintendent and Timber Point Elementary School principal.
